McCain Says ‘American Leadership’ Was Better Under Obama — and Trump Fans Are Tearing Him Apart

Trump has left the chairmen of the Senate foreign relations committee in complete silence.

Republican Senator Bob Corker could barely believe his eyes when reporters on Capitol Hill informed him of tweets in which Trump accused Qatar, a close US ally, of being a state sponsor of terrorism.

“The president?” Corker asked, lowering his register.

Trump’s foreign policy approach has stunned observers, but recent weeks have underscored potential ramifications of his wordiness and blunt policy changes.

Trump’s defenders have cast their thoughts and realize McCain needs to take a hard look at his loyalty to this nation.

Reported by ijr,

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) said American leadership around the globe was stronger under President Barack Obama than it is today, according to the Guardian.

When asked if America’s standing on the global stage was better under Obama, McCain reportedly responded:

“As far as American leadership is concerned, yes.”

McCain also apparently argued that the world isn’t “sure of American leadership, whether it be in Siberia or whether it be in Antarctica.”

The Republican senator’s harsh rebuke of the sitting president didn’t sit well with Trump’s supporters. Some called him “senile,” others claimed he has “lost his damned mind.”

Of course, there were plenty of Trump critics who were happy to share the news too.
