On Thursday, Judge Aileen Cannon made a significant decision by denying the motions put forth by Trump’s co-defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, to dismiss the indictments against them.
The duo had been indicted in a case involving classified documents led by Special Counsel Jack Smith, alongside President Trump.
Walt Nauta, a former White House employee and Navy veteran with experience as a valet for Trump and personal staffer at Mar-a-Lago, found himself facing charges in conjunction with Trump in multiple counts outlined in the federal indictment.
These included allegations of conspiracy, withholding and concealing documents, making false statements, and engaging in schemes to conceal crucial information.
Carlos De Oliveira, a maintenance worker who assisted Nauta in moving boxes of documents at Mar-a-Lago, was also charged by Jack Smith in relation to the obstruction conspiracy case.
Despite De Oliveira’s claims of being unaware of subpoenas targeting the classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago and his lack of knowledge regarding the contents of the boxes, Judge Cannon remained firm in her decision to reject his arguments.
The courtroom drama surrounding these indictments underscores the gravity of the situation faced by Nauta and De Oliveira as they navigate through a complex legal battle intertwined with high-stakes political implications.
Judge Cannon’s ruling signifies a pivotal moment in this unfolding legal saga that continues to captivate public attention.
“The arguments in Defendant De Oliveira’s Motion do not warrant dismissal of the obstruction offenses charged against him. As grounds for dismissal of those counts (Counts 33, 40, and 41), De Oliveira identifies various topics and/or allegations that are not contained in the Superseding Indictment – namely, specific allegations about his knowledge of classified documents or the contents of “the boxes” more generally, or about his knowledge of an “official proceeding” under 18 U.S.C. § 1512. De Oliveira also argues, again in support of dismissal, that the allegations in the Indictment do not show that he was capable of acting with the required “corrupt” criminal intent to support the alleged obstruction offenses. These characterizations are not grounds to dismiss the obstruction counts against De Oliveira,” Cannon wrote in the 8-page ruling.
The Judge also rejected Walt Nauta’s motion to dismiss the charges against him on the argument that they are unconstitutionally vague.
“Defendant Nauta also moves to dismiss the charged obstruction counts—Counts 33, 34, 35, 40, and 41 — as unconstitutionally vague as applied to him and for failure to state a claim. Nauta’s principal submission is that the term “corruptly” as used in the charged § 1512 counts, see 18 U.S.C. § 1512(b)(2)(A), (b)(2)(B), (c)(1), is subject to multiple, still-developing, and contested judicial constructions of the term such that it fails to give ordinary people fair notice of the conduct it punishes and invites arbitrary enforcement,” Cannon wrote.
Cannon continued, “This “multiple-meanings vagueness” contention is worthy of serious consideration, but it does not lead this Court to conclude that dismissal of the obstruction counts is warranted.”
President Trump has submitted multiple motions to dismiss the charges against him, and Judge Cannon has yet to make a ruling on all of them.

We’re still playing grabass with this crap while the degenerate biden just walks away? Time for some new stuff to happen in this country.
I just read an article that reveals the ‘redacted documents’ held by Jack Smith have been UNredacted, and show the whole ‘classified documents’ case is a collusion between the FBI and the DOJ to arrest Trump and try him before the election, just because some dweeb from the National Archives was tired of waiting for Trump to go through documents that he was legally allowed to retain until he went over them.
Got to keep Trump in headlines with as many bad news articles as papers can print and publish on their favorite bad guy who’s their biggest money maker.
Trump has them all scrambling to be the one with the attention grabbing headline that actually takes down Trump. Just one problem they haven’t a clue on how to go about doing that or what it would take for them to do it.
