The House of Representatives in the United States has narrowly voted to hold US Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress.
With a vote of 216-207 and only one Republican siding with the Democrats, Merrick Garland, who was a failed US Supreme Court nominee under Barack Obama and is now serving as the Attorney General under President Biden, has been found in contempt for not providing tapes of special counsel Robert Hur’s interview with President Biden.

Rep. Dave Joyce (R-OH) was the only Republican who joined Democrat lawmakers in their decision not to vote for holding AG Garland in contempt of Congress.
It seems that Joyce may have overlooked the growing frustration among Americans who are tired of seeing their elected officials unfairly accused, charged, and convicted, particularly following President Trump’s guilty verdicts on what many view as unfounded charges in New York City.
Republicans are increasingly calling for their elected representatives to take a stand and hold Democrats responsible for their actual crimes, or risk losing support in the upcoming November election.
Rep. Joyce said of his vote against the Garland contempt resolution, “As a former prosecutor, I cannot in good conscience support a resolution that would further politicize our judicial system to score political points.” pic.twitter.com/Xh99IP380m

One major question still lingers – is it possible to arrest Merrick Garland? According to “Travis 4 Trump,” Rep. Anna Paulina (R-FL), known for her bravery in Congress, has been reportedly sharing a letter among lawmakers calling for an inherent contempt vote against Merrick Garland.
This vote would authorize the House Sargent at Arms to arrest Garland directly.

Two House committees voted on May 16 to subpoena AG Merrick Garland for the audio recordings of Special Counsel Hur’s interview with Joe Biden.
Despite being accused of being the dirtiest AG in American history, Merrick Garland refused to comply with the subpoenas and hand over the tapes.
Mr. Hur cleared Joe Biden of criminal wrongdoing in the classified documents case, citing his memory as an excuse for the handling of sensitive documents and characterizing Biden as an “elderly man with a poor memory.”
In a letter to Joe Biden, AG Garland argued that Mr. Hur’s interviews with Biden and his ghostwriter “fall within the scope of executive privilege,” as he claimed executive privilege.
Republicans have expressed outrage over Garland’s decision not to turn over the audio of Biden’s interview after the DOJ shared the transcript with the House Oversight and Judiciary committees, according to The Hill.
“The president has waived any executive privilege over these audio recordings by releasing a transcript of the entire interview to the public,” House Oversight and Accountability Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) said during a House Rules Committee meeting Tuesday.
During a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Rep. Harriet Hageman (R-WY), a former attorney, strongly challenged Democrat Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) for misleading the committee about another case in order to justify withholding the recordings of the interview between Mr. Hur and Joe Biden from public scrutiny.

The Hill obtained a 57-page memo from the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) of the department, which outlines the reasoning behind Garland’s decision not to release the audio of Biden’s discussion with special counsel Robert Hur.
The GOP already possesses a transcript of the conversation.
“For nearly seven decades and across presidential administrations of both parties, the Executive Branch has taken the position that the criminal contempt of Congress statute … does not apply to Executive Branch officials who do not comply with a congressional subpoena based on a presidential assertion of executive privilege,” according to the memo.
“Consistent with this longstanding position, no U.S. Attorney has pursued criminal contempt charges against an Executive Branch official asserting the President’s claim of executive privilege.”
Christina Laila from the Gateway Pundit recently reported that Robert Hur discovered Joe Biden had “willfully retained” classified information, but ultimately chose not to pursue charges.
Hur stated that there is evidence suggesting Biden knowingly kept classified notebooks, despite being aware that he was not permitted to do so.
The Justice Department justified its decision not to prosecute Biden by describing him as a “sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”
This was supported by instances where Biden forgot details from his time as Vice President and also struggled to remember when his son Beau passed away.
The House of Representatives is expected to hold the final vote on Wednesday evening.

Woh What!!! The Congressional sergeant at arms can arrest those held in contempt of Congress! Holder, now Garland, countless others, one would be led to believe that a contempt of Congress charge was something to be scoffed at.
This will go nowhere! Contempt against Congress ONLY works against Republicans. Democrats ignore the laws, and ALWAYS get away with it. Merrick is another one of Biden’s Commies that will need to be hanged.
