In a column published on Sunday, New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd characterized Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the 2024 presidential race as a “coup” orchestrated by prominent Democrats.

Dowd made his comments following Joe Biden’s announcement at the end of July that he would be dropping out of the race.
This move came after significant pressure from influential Democratic figures who had reportedly advised him behind closed doors to withdraw.
Prominent Democratic figures such as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer have consistently refuted any participation in a concerted attempt to oust Biden.

In her column, Dowd asserted, “Even though it was the right thing to do, because Joe Biden was not going to be able to campaign, much less serve as president for another four years, in a fully vital way, it was a jaw-dropping putsch.”
Dowd contended that the choice to remove Biden from the race was motivated by a decrease in poll numbers and a recognized necessity to prioritize the party’s and the country’s interests over Biden’s personal aspirations. Dowd pointed out that prominent Democrats, such as Pelosi and Schumer, have allegedly been unable to reach out to Biden since he exited the race.
She wrote, “One of the most ruthless and successful tacticians in congressional history seemed sheepish about knifing her pal, and conflicted over whether to take credit. Et tu, Nancy? Biden must have thought.”
However, Pelosi has openly lauded Biden and indicated that his legacy is substantial, even going so far as to propose that he be honored on Mount Rushmore.
Dowd highlighted the internal conflict in the party, observing that Kamala Harris was initially without endorsements from influential figures such as Obama and Pelosi, who hesitated to back her.
Additionally, Dowd noted that Harris’s team was expanding with their own personnel, leading to additional tension. After announcing his decision, Biden promptly endorsed Kamala Harris as his successor, while other prominent Democrats took longer to publicly endorse her.
Dowd concluded, “Those who pushed out Biden should be proud. They saved him and their party from a likely crushing defeat, letting Trump snake back in and soil democracy.”
In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper on Wednesday, former Biden chief of staff Ron Klain condemned the decision, asserting that the attempt to oust Biden was misguided and emphasized that Biden had rightfully clinched the nomination through democratic means and was dedicated to securing another term in office.

Of course it was a Coup! The Democrat Marxist/Communist/Progressive/Satanic Renegade Party has been conducting “a soft Coup d’état” for the last couple of decades that took off into full force when Obama was installed as the “first illegitimate president” followed up smashingly by installing “Biden the Criminal Career Politician” of over 50 years and now the attempt to install the “off the wall (Wal-z)” evil Harris Puppet! Anyone that has their wits that can’t see this is a lost soul.
