New reports have emerged revealing that top Pentagon officials are quietly discussing ways to override President Trump’s directives, raising serious concerns about military overreach and potential treason. According to sources within CNN, military leadership has been holding “informal discussions” on how the Department of Defense would respond if Trump issues controversial orders to deploy active-duty troops domestically or to fire large numbers of defense staffers.
This alarming development hints at a deep-rooted resistance within the military-industrial complex, which is clearly unsettled by Trump’s unorthodox approach to governance. Trump, the first president in over four decades not to initiate a new war during his time in office, is now back in power, and it seems that some within the Pentagon are taking measures to prevent his policies from taking effect.
The discussion surrounding this potential military rebellion is not entirely surprising. After all, Trump has faced significant opposition from military leaders in the past. Retired General Mark Milley, the former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was notably resistant to Trump’s requests for support during critical moments. One such instance was on January 6, 2021, when the Capitol was stormed by protestors.
Trump, worried about the potential for violence, had proactively called for the National Guard and military support, but General Milley, who was responsible for ensuring security, failed to act on the president’s orders. Not only did Milley not deploy the National Guard, but he also failed to disclose this vital information to investigators or the media, leaving the Capitol unprotected during the riot.
Furthermore, Milley made secret calls to Chinese officials during this time, allegedly to warn them in case Trump planned military action against China. This bizarre and highly controversial move raised many questions about Milley’s loyalty and his willingness to undermine a sitting president. Despite these actions, Milley faced no consequences—an indication of the lack of accountability within the military leadership.
Fast forward to today, and it seems that military leaders have learned nothing from the previous administration’s shortcomings. Pentagon officials, according to the recent CNN report, are once again preparing for a possible clash with Trump 47’s White House. Officials are “gaming out various scenarios” and “planning for the worst-case scenario,” all while expressing uncertainty about how things will unfold under Trump’s return to office.
One anonymous defense official was quoted saying, “We are all preparing and planning for the worst-case scenario, but the reality is that we don’t know how this is going to play out yet.” It’s clear that the fear of a Trump-led overhaul of the Pentagon is very real among the brass. The president-elect has already voiced his frustrations with the military’s leadership, calling generals “woke,” “weak,” and “ineffective leaders” who have failed to secure American interests both at home and abroad.
The core issue here appears to be a deep-seated animosity between the military-industrial complex and Trump. While previous presidents have often relied on the Pentagon’s guidance and approval, Trump broke from that mold by questioning the military’s effectiveness and pushing for a more isolationist, America-first approach. This has clearly upset the entrenched elites within the military establishment who are more invested in maintaining the status quo.
In this tense environment, it’s not surprising that Pentagon brass are preparing for a potential clash with Trump should he return to the White House. His history of challenging military leadership and demanding accountability for failures makes it clear why some in the Pentagon would fear his administration. Trump has already suggested he would make significant changes to the Pentagon if given another term, including pushing for a complete overhaul of its leadership.
This latest report follows a troubling pattern of military disobedience that goes back to the early days of Trump’s presidency. General Milley’s refusal to deploy the National Guard during the Capitol riot is just one example of how military leaders have defied Trump’s orders. And, as The Gateway Pundit previously reported, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi also played a role in preventing the National Guard from being deployed on January 6, further complicating the chain of command.
This continued resistance from military leaders raises serious concerns about their commitment to fulfilling their constitutional duty to serve the elected commander-in-chief. Instead of prioritizing the nation’s interests and security, some in the military appear to be more focused on preserving their own power and political preferences.
As Trump prepares for a potential return to office, it’s crucial that he takes decisive action to clean house within the Pentagon. The military’s lack of accountability, particularly among senior officials, has contributed to several major failures, including the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. If Trump is serious about reforming the military and restoring accountability, he must start by addressing the insubordination and entrenched bureaucracy within the Pentagon.
This latest move by military brass to discuss ways of overriding Trump’s orders is a clear sign of resistance that could destabilize the future of American democracy. The question now is whether Trump will be able to overcome these challenges and ensure that the military serves the will of the people, not the interests of a corrupt few.

Excuse me but could someone tighten up the syntax and facts of the matter at hand on this point. You state; “The question now is whether Trump, if re-elected, will be able to overcome these challenges and ensure that the military serves the will of the people, not the interests of a corrupt few.”
He is reelected and is now the 47th President and Commander in Chief!
And I agree the Pentagon sure does need to be cleaned up of all the “War Harks and Status-Quo MIC Control Freak thinking Traitors.”
If the Military Upper Echelon of the Pentagon pull these shenanigans that will be a Military Coup and Treason with court martial and executions required; you thick heads in the WOKE Armed Forces!
Many things that you did under the Insane Biden/Harris Administration were Treasonous like not protecting the Borders and allowing Terrorists to walk in as well as not Protecting the US Constitution and abiding by your Sworn Oaths to do so! That means protecting the American people and this Nation from all enemies foreign and domestic; which I haven’t seen happen in some time!
Trump should fire ever top military corruption official officers we don’t need military commanders second guessing the President of the United States Of America. Lock them up for Treason they should be shot but better for the country for them to rot and die in prison. These Woke officers need to be gone we need the strongest military in the world not a bunch of Woke dei derelict
Totally agree Sue!
The generals of the US military have not been worth the room they occupy at the pentagon since obama fired or retired all the one who were willing to support their oath of office during his first year in the white house! They were all replaced by lackeys who agreed to serve as his private armed forces and to insure the force of the military if needed to enforce his (obamas) orders. As for milley, he should be tried for treason, stripped of his rank and pension and imprisoned for the rest of his life! He has proven many times that he cannot be trusted and should be treated like any other traitor!
henry plante, yes I remember that and that serpentine traitor devil who should have never been allowed to be President was part of a Dark Sinister and Diabolical force to ruin America; he is the epitome of an enemy within and serves the Devil! He should be in GITMO, tried and summarily executed.
Trump should put out a call to officers that were retired against their will to fill positions becoming available as Trump removes insubordinate and useless current officers. The military has gone to hell under Democrat rule and it must be reorganized without “Woke” and Gay focus rather than defense of the country.
Don, absolutely great idea! I pray it happens!
A word to the wise. Any commissioned or non-commissioned officer who, in good conscience, feels he or she will not be able to obey the lawful orders of the newly elected Commander-In-Chief, has 70 days remaining to submit his/her retirement papers before January 20, 2025. After that window closes, any failure to do so could risk charges being brought under the UCMJ, a subsequent Courts Martial, and upon conviction, face potential imprisonment and forfeiture of all pay and allowances.
Any military leader subvertly going against Trump’s directives should be tried in a military tribunal and when found guilty should be immediately sent to Leavenworth or Gizmo for treason. Trump is the Commander in Chief overseeing the entire US military complex and should be respected as such. He’s not a warmonger like the Democrats and their lackey military leaders who constantly have the military involved in some type of conflict trying to police the world. Instead of being used for defense of the US, they are being used by the Democrats for their personal war machine. The Democrats are continually trying to dupe the American public and using our tax dollars to fund a war for other countries, like Ukraine! Billions and billions of our dollars have been given to zelinsky repeatedly anytime he comes into the US begging for more. They Democrats have made the US Zelinsky’s personal bank and this needs to stop now. Trump needs to put a stop to this immediately.
John M, absolutely and here I quote they are being used by the Democrats for their personal war machine. That is the apparent use but also it’s all about “big money changing hands” or should I say “being robbed from the Citizens” for the MIC Machine with their Defense Contractors being “enriched;” but like that money for Zelinsky it’s mostly about “kickbacks and money laundering schemes!” There are too many individuals in the system to name that already should have been tried and executed for what they’ve been doing for years!
They won’t do SH!T because the DOD Deep State Pukes will be FIRED Jan. 20, 2025.
Ausin first!
CharlieSeattle, you’ve got that right there are lots of Deep State Pukes! Hopefully the toilet flushing in the Swamp begins Day One!
