A mystery countdown on Taylor Swift’s website has fans scouring every corner of the internet for clues about what she’s planning next. The clock appeared Tuesday and is set to expire at 2 p.m. ET on Sept. 22, though Swift’s team has offered no explanation of what will happen when it does.
The countdown surfaced alongside other small changes fans immediately noticed. A third page was seemingly added to the letter Swift wrote in May 2025 after buying back the rights to her back catalog. Her Instagram and X bios were also updated to read, “And, baby, that’s sh0w business f0r y0u,” with every letter “o” swapped for a zero.
Fans have floated a range of theories, from a re-recorded version of her debut album, “Taylor Swift,” to a tour announcement or deluxe edition tied to her latest release, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Clues Dating Back to the Emmys
Speculation has been building since the Emmy Awards, where Swift appeared in a pre-taped “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” sketch with Mariska Hargitay. In the segment, a squad investigating whether Swift would show up at the ceremony pored over a board of references and Easter eggs before Swift herself stepped into the scene, suggesting the answer was “hiding in plain sight.”
She then delivered a cryptic string of words that fans have been dissecting ever since: “Saccharide, Ares, From the vineyard, North or South.”
Some fans believe rearranging and decoding those words spells out the message: “My first record’s re-record is out Nov ten ha ha ha ha.” Others have focused on the newly added third page of Swift’s letter, arguing that the third letter of each word spells “Encore.”
