Amazon is discounting the Garmin vívoactive 5 smartwatch by 39% ahead of its October Prime Big Deal Days event, which runs Tuesday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026.
The vívoactive 5 offers a bright display and up to about 11 days of battery life on a full charge. Like most modern smartwatches, it’s built around health and fitness tracking, letting wearers monitor a daily Body Battery score, sleep score, step counts and workouts such as HIIT, swimming and cycling. The watch also provides personalized sleep coaching for users who aren’t getting adequate rest.
The device includes accessibility features not found on every competitor, including a wheelchair mode that tracks pushes instead of steps. Users can also download music directly to the watch for a hands-free listening experience during workouts.
Other Fitness Wearables on the Market
Shoppers comparing options have several other trackers to consider. The WHOOP band offers advanced REM sleep tracking, personalized coaching and menstrual cycle tracking. The Oura Ring 4 is a screenless wearable that tracks sleep, heart rate and stress. The Fitbit Sense monitors heart rhythm, electrodermal activity and skin temperature to deliver real-time stress data.
What Is Prime Big Deal Days?
Prime Big Deal Days, sometimes called October Prime Day, is Amazon’s major autumn sales event, offering discounts ahead of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday holiday shopping rush. This year’s event runs from Oct. 6 to Oct. 7.
Unlike the July Prime Day event, Prime Big Deal Days takes place every October, giving shoppers an early start on holiday purchases. Both sales events are exclusive to Amazon Prime members, though new customers can access a 30-day free trial to take advantage of the discounts and other Prime benefits, including expedited shipping.
Amazon has not announced a date for its next summer Prime Day, which is expected to return in 2027.
