Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has launched a significant investigation into Robert Francis “Beto” O’Rourke’s political group, Powered by People. The inquiry aims to uncover whether contributions made by the group to House Democratic Caucus members might be illegal. Paxton warned that bribery charges could arise if it is proven that legislators were paid not to vote on Texas’s congressional redistricting measure.
In a bold statement, Paxton declared that any Democrat accepting a “Beto Bribe” would face consequences. He emphasized that Texas is not for sale and pledged to scrutinize all documents and communications gathered during the investigation. Paxton accused the Democrats of losing public trust by fleeing the state and hinted at potential illegal bribes for doing so.
The Texas Tribune reported that Powered by People played a leading financial role in the Democrats’ quorum-breaking operation. The George Soros-backed Texas Majority PAC assisted in coordinating donations from wealthy party donors. However, the identities of these donors remain unclear.
This investigation marks the latest chapter in Paxton’s aggressive campaign against the Democrats. He has threatened to ask a court to declare their seats vacant if they do not return to Austin by Friday. Earlier, Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the Texas Rangers to investigate the fleeing legislators.
Governor Abbott expressed that any Democrat who solicited or accepted funds to break quorum might have violated bribery laws. He instructed the Texas Rangers to expedite their findings and report them to the appropriate legal authorities. Abbott’s directive also extends to anyone who may have facilitated these potential crimes.
On Tuesday night, Abbott took legal action in the Texas Supreme Court to begin vacating the seats of absentee legislators. He described this as an emergency measure to hold accountable those neglecting their constitutional duties. Abbott bypassed lower courts, citing Section 22 of the Texas Constitution and court precedent for his actions.
The Texas Supreme Court has requested a response from the respondent, Chairman Gene Wu, by Friday, August 8, at 5 p.m. The case, titled Emergency Petition for Writ of Quo Warranto, carries the number 25-0674. Abbott’s decisive legal moves underscore his determination to confront Democrats over their quorum-breaking tactics.
Bob Price, an associate editor and senior news contributor for Breitbart Texas, reported on these developments. Price is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and frequently appears on Fox 26 Houston’s “What’s Your Point?” talk show. He also serves as president of Blue Wonder Gun Care Products.
Governor Abbott’s actions reflect a broader conservative stance on maintaining legislative integrity. His unwavering efforts signal a commitment to holding Democrats accountable for their actions. Abbott and Paxton have both shown a strong resolve to uphold Texas laws and ensure proper governance.
The investigation into O’Rourke’s group has drawn attention from conservative media outlets. Fox News and the New York Post have highlighted the potential implications of the investigation. These outlets emphasize the seriousness of the accusations and the potential legal ramifications.
The political climate in Texas remains tense as these investigations unfold. Conservatives argue that the actions of the Democrats undermine the democratic process. The focus remains on ensuring that elected officials adhere to their responsibilities.
Abbott and Paxton’s actions are seen as a defense of conservative principles. Their commitment to transparency and accountability resonates with many Texans. The conservative community continues to rally around their efforts to preserve the state’s legislative integrity.
The ongoing legal battles highlight a significant ideological divide within Texas politics. Conservatives maintain that upholding the law is paramount. The developments serve as a reminder of the importance of accountability in government.
As the investigation progresses, the focus remains on uncovering the truth. Conservatives are optimistic that justice will prevail. The outcome of these proceedings could have lasting implications for Texas politics.
In the meantime, Texans watch closely as the legal process unfolds. The anticipation of potential revelations keeps the public engaged. The investigation into Powered by People underscores the need for vigilance in political affairs.
As the situation continues to develop, conservative voices remain steadfast. They insist on maintaining a fair and transparent political system. The commitment to upholding the law is central to their ideology.

Put Soros and Beto in PRISON NOW!!!
For a long time Lawrence.
Yes Michael, preferably permanently as Treason, Sedition and Treachery once upon a time when the U.S. Constitution was adhered to most appropriately it meant a death sentence was in order; genuine deterrence works!
What we got now is “lets make a deal or let’s do a backdoor deal!”
A lot of money talks and bullshit walks!
The “DEM” in Democrat stands for “DEMON”… They are all so corrupt & soulless!
Absolutely, which is why for a few years I’ve referred to them as Demoncraps!
So the American taxpayers are paying there outrageous salaries and the don’t show up to work and then they use taxpayers money or donation money and rent a private jet to fly them to a resort hotel and dine out every meal and who is paying for all of this expensive vacation while the taxpayers are still paying them for not showing up to work. Arrest all of them and fire every government employee immediately.
This is dereliction of duty to the American people. Disgraceful.
If Republicans did this the democrats would explode. Two tiered system.
Sue, correct on all counts and it’s beyond an insult and disgraceful; I believe this is absolutely a conspiratorial act that heads straight into the territory of being Sedition and Treason which if I could make the call it would be send them all to GiTMO for a Military Tribunal Trial to be punished for all of their Treachery! They’ve absolutely ignored their oaths of office and do not represent the Citizens of Texas, The Constitution and the United States of America’s best interests, but are absolute “Enemies Within!”
In days gone by that would be enough to call for immediate trials and executions, no slap on wrists or even just firings and removal from office! Things are OUT OF CONTROL, and it better change fast or forget about it; it’s all over but for the crying and dying; belly up!
