The Austin Police Department has made an arrest in the tragic case involving the murder of Infowars reporter Jamie White. A 17-year-old named Eloy Adrian Camarillo has been charged with capital murder related to the incident. His bond is set at $250,000, and the charge includes a terror threat or other felony.
Court documents reveal that Camarillo admitted to targeting certain vehicles, particularly Kias, which are known for being easier to steal. Along with three other individuals, he aimed to take White’s green Kia Soul. The situation turned deadly when White confronted the group, resulting in him being shot in the neck.
Jamie White succumbed to his injuries, making the incident a murder case rather than just a theft. Camarillo reportedly confessed that the shooting occurred during their attempt to take the vehicle. This senseless act of violence has left the community shocked and grieving.
Authorities are still on the hunt for the additional suspects involved in this horrific event. Eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage have been instrumental in piecing together the series of events. They indicate that a black Kia Soul was involved in the crime, pulling up alongside White’s vehicle just before the shooting.
KXAN reported that the black Kia Soul was later seen driving away from the scene, heading north on Douglas Street toward Oltorf Street. This vehicle was eventually found abandoned near Sara Drive in east Austin. The black Kia was reported stolen from an apartment complex in Kyle, Texas, just a day after White’s murder.
Further investigation revealed that another vehicle, a silver Kia Soul, was also involved and had been stolen on March 9 from Delores Avenue in east Austin. Surveillance footage showed a masked man exiting the silver Kia, trying to break into other vehicles before stealing the black Kia. The silver Kia was later found abandoned in southeast Travis County.
Investigators have been using cellphone tower data to track the movements of the suspects and the stolen vehicles. One cellphone number was consistently present at key locations, which led authorities to Camarillo. Despite his arrest, three other suspects remain at large.
Authorities have not yet disclosed Camarillo’s citizenship status, and the investigation is ongoing. They are urging anyone with information about the other suspects to come forward. The community remains on edge as they hope for swift justice.
In light of these events, there’s been a renewed conversation about law enforcement and community safety. The tragic loss of Jamie White has underscored the need for stronger measures against crime. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on bringing all responsible parties to justice.

“….turned deadly when White confronted the group,….” Unless you are ARMED, and willing to ‘shoot to kill’ anyone attempting to steal your property, CONFRONTING a person, or group of people, is NOT recommended. Be a good observer, witness, and detail that info to the proper authorities. Killing someone for stealing ‘replaceable’ property, and/or getting KILLED yourself, is hardly worth the tradeoff! Many states do not authorize the use of ‘deadly force’ in an attempt to prevent theft of property. If you shoot someone, killing them or not, you will have to be able to articulate to a judge exactly WHY you feared for your life or that of another!
