The tragic and untimely death of Johnny Wactor, former star of the beloved soap opera “General Hospital,” has left fans and colleagues in shock and mourning.
Reports indicate that the 37-year-old actor was fatally shot in downtown Los Angeles during what is suspected to have been a catalytic converter theft.
The devastating incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning, leaving Wactor’s family, friends, and the entertainment industry reeling from the loss.
According to accounts from Wactor’s mother, Scarlett Wactor, and corroborated by his coworker, the actor and his companion encountered three individuals tampering with his car in downtown Los Angeles.
Despite being aware of this unauthorized activity, Wactor reportedly did not engage or confront the individuals.
Tragically, this did not prevent him from becoming a victim of gun violence as he was shot by one of the perpetrators before they fled the scene.
The Los Angeles Police Department swiftly responded to a distress call at approximately 3:25 a.m. PT on that fateful Saturday and discovered Wactor suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
The circumstances surrounding Wactor’s death point towards an alleged catalytic converter theft as the motive behind the lethal shooting.
As law enforcement agencies continue their investigation, no suspects have been publicly identified or apprehended at this time.
Subsequent confirmations of Johnny Wactor’s passing conveyed deep sorrow and profound admiration for him as both an artist and an individual.
His younger brother Grant Watson lamented the loss of a remarkable human being while emphasizing Wactor’s positive impact on those around him.
David Shaul, Wactor’s talent agent, echoed these sentiments in a heartfelt tribute to his client. Shaul described Wactor as not only a gifted actor dedicated to his craft but also as someone who embodied integrity and resilience.
He emphasized how Wactor served as a source of inspiration through his unwavering work ethic and unyielding determination.
The agent expressed gratitude for having had the privilege of working with such an exceptional person for over a decade and emphasized that Johnny would be dearly missed.
Wactor’s career in entertainment began in 2007 with a role in the TV series “Army Wives.” However, it was his portrayal of Brando Corbin in 164 episodes of “General Hospital” between 2020 and 2022 that solidified his status as a fan-favorite actor within the soap opera community.
In addition to this iconic role, he made appearances on popular television shows like “Westworld,” “NCIS,” and “Criminal Minds,” showcasing his versatility as an actor.
At the time of his passing, Johnny Wactor had been actively involved in filming the TV movie “Nightmare Diaries,” which was still in pre-production according to IMDb – reflecting his continued dedication to his craft.
In light of this tragic event, authorities are appealing for anyone with information pertaining to this deadly shooting to come forward by contacting LAPD’s Central Station at 213-486-6606 or anonymously reaching out to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.

Looks like Biden supporters doing what they do best.
Yup, lucifer’s dimmercraps.
What part of ‘you should be ARMED’ in almost ANY city in America today, but especially ANY large megalopolis like LA, SF, NYC, Chicago, Detroit, etc., ad nauseam, is hard to understand? Walking into some ongoing ‘theft,’ EVERYONE should immediately KNOW these perps WILL be ARMED. In which case, if UNARMED you should quickly walk, or better, run in the opposite direction.
You can’t carry concealed in NY, California, Illinois or NJ.
This is what happens when you stop enforcing laws like those for “shoplifting” and sex crimes. I lived in Hollywood for 26 years and never heard of anything like this in that quarter century. Where are we going from here?
