It’s a sad state of affairs when teenagers are facing felony charges for simply riding their scooters over a crosswalk.
But that’s exactly what happened in Spokane, Washington, where one adult and two minors have been charged with vandalism after leaving “black scuff marks” on an LGBTQ+ crosswalk.
According to reports, the trio was out enjoying a day of scootering when they came across the colorful mural.
Not thinking much of it, they rode over it, leaving behind some minor marks from their wheels.
Little did they know, this harmless act would land them in hot water with the law.
The incident was brought to the attention of police by reports of vandalism on the mural.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers claimed to have witnessed some of the damage being done firsthand.
Investigators said there was “widespread damage” to the Pride mural, including “black scuff marks consistent with scooter wheels.” Photographs with the police report showed about 14 black skid marks.
Without hesitation, they proceeded to charge these young individuals with felonies.
Lime, a company that rents scooters to pedestrians, said it was instituting a “no-go zone” over the mural so that its devices would stop working if someone tried to ride them into the LGBTQ+ crosswalk.
A scooter that enters a no-go zone will slowly come to stop until the rider walks it out of the zone.
Lime Director of Government Relations Hayden Harvey released a statement to the National Desk saying that the company strongly condemning the acts of “vile” hatred committed via scooter wheel.
“All of us at Lime condemn these vile acts in no uncertain terms,” said Harvey.
“At a time when our teams at Lime are beginning pride celebrations around the globe, it is disturbing to see the hate taking place in Spokane,” he added. “We will not let the hateful few spoil the joy of Pride Month in Spokane, and are grateful for those working to make Spokane more welcoming for all.”

This is pathetic arresting these teenagers, what about all the Evil Criminals that Don’t get Arrested for beating , stabbing, shooting, pushing innocent people they belong in Jail and not just for a day the government Absolutely SU K …So many innocent children are being shot at .. This is an INSULT to everyone. First they need to stop WASTING TAXDOLLARS on this Pride IGNORANCE and instead of going after kids being kids they need to go after REAL CRIMINALS like those killing, Rapinv and selling drugs.

Give them a pacifier so they can stop whining like a bunch of babies! If anyone scuffed up the rainbow, it’s the LGBTQ in their disrespect to God who created & owns the Rainbow!
Kids and taxpayers should sue the City and pee on it while waiting for a Court date.

This is absolutely INSANE!! What has our country come to? Why is there a Pride Month and only One Day to celebrate our veterans, one day to celebrate our country’s founding, and one day to celebrate the Labor Force? Talk about discrimination. Folks, this is it.
