Vice President Kamala Harris’ attempt to energize her 2024 presidential campaign took a sharp hit after her interview on CBS’s 60 Minutes became a focal point of criticism. The interview, which was supposed to highlight her leadership on key issues, instead showcased her vague responses and drew scrutiny from both political opponents and commentators.
Fox News host Jesse Watters led the charge, airing clips from the interview during an episode of Jesse Watters Primetime where he criticized Harris for her evasive answers on immigration, gun ownership, and economic policy. Watters called her media tour a failure, stating, “Kamala Harris’ media blitz is already bombing. 60 Minutes just grilled her on immigration, and she had nothing.”
In one of the most talked-about moments, Harris was questioned by CBS correspondent Bill Whitaker about the massive influx of undocumented immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border during the Biden administration. Whitaker pointed out that under Biden and Harris, arrivals had quadrupled compared to the last year of President Trump’s term. Harris, while acknowledging that the administration had “offered solutions,” failed to directly address whether the relaxation of immigration policies had contributed to the surge.
When pressed again on whether it was a mistake to allow such an increase, Harris dodged the question, claiming that her focus was on “fixing a problem, not promoting one.” However, she avoided taking responsibility for the spike in crossings, attempting instead to blame Congress for failing to solve the ongoing border crisis. Watters responded to the clip by noting her lack of clear answers, stating, “She had nothing.”
The conversation then shifted to the topic of gun ownership, where Harris faced another wave of criticism. When asked whether she owned a gun, Harris replied, “I have a Glock, and I’ve had it for quite some time. My background is in law enforcement.” She laughed as she mentioned firing it at a shooting range, which led to confusion and criticism about her lighthearted reaction to such a serious topic.
Watters expressed disbelief at Harris’ tone, stating, “Not sure what’s so funny about that.” This moment was soon followed by sharp criticism from others, including country music star John Rich, who pointed out what he called Harris’ hypocrisy on gun control.
Rich tweeted, “Kamala says she owns a Glock. She was also in favor of banning what she called ‘high-capacity magazines,’ which is anything over 7 rounds. Every Glock magazine holds at least 10 rounds, and most hold more than 15. She’s a joke with endless punchlines.”
Harris has a complicated history when it comes to gun control. As the former District Attorney of San Francisco, she supported a handgun ban that would have outlawed the very firearm she now claims to own. Critics were quick to seize on this inconsistency, accusing her of pandering to both sides of the gun control debate depending on the situation.
Beyond the controversy over immigration and gun ownership, Harris also stumbled in her discussion of the Israel-Hamas conflict. When asked about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the situation, Harris provided what many viewed as a convoluted and unclear response. Watters commented, “I don’t know what she just said there,” adding that even 60 Minutes seemed baffled by her answers.
The interview delved into economic policy as well, where Harris promoted a $50,000 tax deduction for small business startups. Watters criticized this proposal, framing it as an unrealistic and oversimplified solution to complex economic challenges. He questioned whether such measures would meaningfully address the broader economic struggles facing American families, pointing to the Biden-Harris administration’s record on inflation and job creation.
Harris’ comments on selective service and abortion rights also came under fire. Watters accused her of glossing over the complexities of regulations related to men’s and women’s bodies, suggesting that her responses lacked depth and understanding. “No one knows what she’s talking about,” Watters concluded, underscoring what he sees as a growing problem with Harris’ communication style. “Does Kamala even know what she’s talking about?”
As the 2024 election looms closer, Harris has faced increasing pressure to better connect with voters and deliver clearer messaging on key issues. However, her media appearances, including the 60 Minutes interview, have drawn more criticism than praise. Watters went as far as to compare Harris’ trajectory to that of Hillary Clinton’s, implying that her campaign could be heading for a similar path of defeat.
“Kamala Harris went from being the next Barack Obama to being the new Hillary Clinton,” Watters remarked. “Democrats are worried Harris is running the same ‘play-it-safe’ campaign. Joy is now turning into dread.”
With less than a month remaining in the election cycle, Harris’ public appearances will continue to be scrutinized as she attempts to secure a path to victory. Her handling of crucial issues such as immigration, gun control, foreign policy, and the economy will likely shape voter perceptions in these final weeks, with critics questioning whether she has the clarity and vision to lead the country in a time of uncertainty.

She’s never been clear. She spouts nonsense about her struggle when she was growing up but went to private schools. This administration has let millions of illegals in, helped cause the rampid crime and drug movement, the crashing economy, etc. For those women who say they will vote for her because then they can get an abortion if they want…how do you plan to pay your rent, pay for gas etc. as costs are raising at a rapid rate. She has no plans no answers…do you really want her dealing with foreign leaders? Her only plan is “to make the wealthy pay their ‘fair’ share.
What a worthless leftist liar.
Harris knows nothing and she says nothing.
