College football’s second weekend brings a handful of marquee matchups, led by a top-five showdown between Ohio State and Texas that could shape the early national championship picture.
Here’s a look at five of the most notable games on this weekend’s schedule, along with the betting lines and context heading into kickoff.
Missouri at Kansas
Missouri is favored by 5.5 points, with a moneyline of -218 to Kansas’s +180 and an over/under of 51.5. The Tigers routed Arkansas-Pine Bluff 54-14 in Week 1 but failed to cover the 54.5-point spread set for that game. Kansas, meanwhile, covered its own 41-point spread by beating Long Island University 51-6. Last season, Missouri beat Kansas 42-31. FOX Sports college football writer RJ Young is picking Missouri, saying, “The Tigers have the better quarterback, and their run game is still rather awesome even without Ahmad Hardy in the backfield.”
Oklahoma State at Oregon
Oregon is a heavy favorite at -23.5, with a moneyline of -2100 to Oklahoma State’s +1100 and an over/under of 57.5. The Ducks needed a late push to beat Boise State 34-27 last week, falling short of the 24.5-point spread. Oklahoma State lost to Tulsa 24-10, controlling time of possession but committing four turnovers and six penalties for 59 yards. Oregon throttled Oklahoma State 69-3 the last time the two teams met, in 2025. Michigan at Oklahoma
Oklahoma is favored by 5.5 points, with a moneyline of -218 to Michigan’s +180 and an over/under of 43.5. Michigan survived a chaotic 13-12 win over Western Michigan in Week 1 that involved two Hail Marys and a disputed extra second on the clock, a game that knocked the Wolverines from No. 16 out of the Top 25 entirely. FOX Sports betting analyst Will Hill thinks Michigan will at least cover the spread, writing, “The Wolverines still appear to have a very solid defense. They should be able to adopt an ‘Us vs. The World’ mentality — especially as a home ‘dog.”
Tennessee at Georgia Tech
Tennessee is favored by 12.5 points, with a moneyline of -470 to Georgia Tech’s +360 and an over/under of 55.5. Georgia Tech was upset by Colorado in Atlanta in Week 1, managing only 288 total yards of offense. Tennessee, by contrast, put up 638 yards in a win over Furman. The two programs haven’t met in nine years; their last meeting ended in a double-overtime win for Tennessee.
Ohio State at Texas
Texas is a slight favorite at -1.5, with a moneyline of -122 to Ohio State’s +102 and an over/under of 49.5. Both teams sit near the top of the national championship odds and both have players near the top of the Heisman conversation. RJ Young is picking Ohio State, calling wide receiver Jeremiah Smith a “cheat code.” Last season, Ohio State beat Texas 14-7 on the Buckeyes’ home field.
