“The End of Oak Street,” the sci-fi thriller starring Anne Hathaway, became available for digital purchase and rental on Sept. 15, just over a month after its Aug. 14 theatrical debut.
The film, directed by David Robert Mitchell of “It Follows” fame, centers on the Platt family as they try to survive after their suburban neighborhood is inexplicably transported from 1982 to a prehistoric era populated by dinosaurs. Hathaway plays the Platt family matriarch, with Ewan McGregor cast as her husband.
Viewers can buy or rent “The End of Oak Street” through Prime Video. Purchasing the film costs $24.99, while renting it costs $19.99. No Amazon Prime membership is required, though a free Amazon account is necessary to access the purchase.
Renters have 30 days to start watching the film once they rent it, and once playback begins, they have 48 hours of viewing access.
For those wary of digital ownership—since streaming rights can be revoked, potentially cutting off access to purchased content—a physical release is on the way. “The End of Oak Street” will arrive on Blu-ray, 4K and standard DVD on Nov. 3, and preorders are open now.
The release marks Hathaway’s fourth major film of 2026, following “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “Mother Mary” and “The Odyssey.” Her fifth film of the year, “Verity,” is set to hit theaters in the coming weeks.
