White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has officially announced that President Joe Biden will not be pardoning his son, Hunter, despite widespread speculation.
Last week, Hunter Biden was convicted of three felonies for unlawfully purchasing a revolver in October 2018 and keeping it in his possession for 11 days.
Prosecutors argued that he had lied on forms about his drug addiction history, which is prohibited by federal law for gun purchasers.
Additionally, it is notable that Hunter declined a plea agreement last year that would have recommended probation for a variety of past conduct.
While Hunter was on trial, President Biden was in France for D-Day commemoration ceremonies. During his visit, he made a commitment not to pardon his son, regardless of the trial’s outcome.
Shortly before Biden was set to depart for the G7 summit in Italy, the guilty verdict was announced.
During a press briefing on Air Force One, Jean-Pierre avoided questions about the potential for a commutation, as previously covered by Blaze News.
“He and the first lady love their son and they support their son, I just don’t have anything … beyond that,” she stammered at the time.
Once at the G7 summit, President Biden seemed to reaffirm that he would not interfere with Hunter’s pending sentence. “I am satisfied that I’m not going to do anything — I said I’d abide by the jury decision,” he said. “I will do that, and I will not pardon him.”
At a press briefing on Monday, Jean-Pierre clarified where the president stands regarding a commutation, which would lessen or cancel Hunter’s sentence even as it preserves the conviction. RealClearPolitics reporter Philip Wegmann asked Jean-Pierre whether Biden has “ruled out any type of pardon or commutation or reduced sentence for his son,” and she replied in the affirmative.
“Yes, he has,” she said, according to the New York Post.
This being Hunter Biden’s initial conviction, it is unlikely that he will be given the maximum 25-year jail sentence. A hearing for his sentencing regarding the firearm conviction has not been scheduled yet.
Hunter Biden is also preparing for another federal trial related to alleged tax fraud amounting to $1.4 million, which is slated to commence in September.
According to reports, he declined a plea deal last year that would have suggested probation as a sentence for a variety of past behaviors.

Nothing to commute. Biden has already told the Judge what the sentence will be just like he has the NYC Judge.
OF COURSE HE’S GOING TO COMUTE IT, NOW WE KNOW FOR CERTAIN THIS PUKE IS AN FKING LIAR!!!!!
After the election. Win or lose, he has nothing to give up politically by pardoning.
This fake regime of Biden is a treason factory. Treason after treason after treason. Joe Biden is dead and buried at Arlington National Cemetary. We are not stupid like they think we are!
Biden and his whole administration are liars, they can’t tell the truth ever! Of course he will pardon is worthless criminal druggie son. He will lie and say not but he will, you can depend on it. Unless of course the criminal justice system gives him a pass. The traitors!
Sniffin’ Joe has vowed that his precious Hunter will not spend one night in jail.
Jean Pierre lies as much as biden. He’ll give hunter a full presidential pardon…
Of course he isn’t going to commute the sentence. He will give a complete pardon. There is a difference legally. Typical political double speak. “Won’t raise your premiums ONE DIME,” “no NEW taxes,” “I never asked anyone to lie, not ONCE,” ” I am personally against…” All of crap that comes out of the mouths of politicians is metered to make sure that they are “technically” telling the truth, as the toilet opens to mislead. It depends on what Is is.
What do Jean Pierre and a carpet have in common? They both Lie contineously.
