In a major win for justice and freedom, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been granted the right to appeal his extradition to the United States by a UK court.
This decision comes after years of legal battles and attempts by the US government to silence Assange and his groundbreaking journalism.
Assange, who has been holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London since 2012, is facing multiple charges related to his publication of classified information through WikiLeaks.
The US government alleges that he conspired with former Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning to leak sensitive documents, including evidence of war crimes committed by US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
But for many American-loving Patriots who vote Republican, Assange is seen as a hero who exposed corruption and held those in power accountable.
“This is a huge victory for truth and transparency,” said conservative commentator Tomi Lahren. “Assange should be praised for his brave actions, not punished.”
The ruling was made by Judge Vanessa Baraitser at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, May 20th, after she rejected arguments from lawyers representing the US government that there were no grounds for an appeal.
“The court considers that there are substantial grounds for believing that if Mr. Assange were released today he would fail to surrender,” Baraitser said in her decision.
Assange’s lawyers argued that he would not receive a fair trial in the US, where he could face up to 175 years in prison if convicted. They also cited concerns over his mental and physical health, as well as the conditions he would face in US prisons.
“The decision to grant Assange the right to appeal is a step towards justice,” said Senator Rand Paul, a vocal supporter of Assange. “We cannot allow the deep state to silence those who expose their corruption and lies.”
Assange’s legal team also brought up evidence of political motivations behind the extradition request, including statements from President Trump and Attorney General William Barr calling for his prosecution.
“This is a clear case of political persecution,” said attorney Jennifer Robinson. “The US government is seeking revenge against Assange for exposing their dirty secrets.”
But while many celebrate this latest development as a win for free speech and press freedom, others see it as a threat to national security and call for Assange to be held accountable for his actions.
“Assange is not above the law,” said Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger. “He put American lives at risk with his reckless release of classified information.”
The appeal process could take months or even years, as both sides present their arguments in front of higher courts. In the meantime, Assange will remain in custody at Belmarsh Prison in London.
For now, Patriots can continue to rally behind Assange and his fight for justice and truth.
As Senator Paul put it: “This is about more than just one man, it’s about protecting our fundamental rights and holding our government accountable.”

Assange is a great man for showing the criminal activity’s of many countries. Hold people accountable for their actions, not someone blowing the whistle
Julian Assange must pray that the United States alphabet soup agencies don’t get their hands on him, because they are pure lying evil people, that will do anything to hide their crimes and corruption! Including bearing false witness!
