Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, is facing renewed scrutiny after reports surfaced alleging he owes $380,000 in back rent to two Venice, California, landlords. The revelations, first reported by the Daily Mail, paint a picture of unpaid debts, damaged property, and bizarre attempts at payment—further fueling criticism of Hunter’s alleged impunity.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Hunter rented a luxury property owned by Sweetgreen CEO and co-founder Jonathan Neman. When he vacated the property, it was reportedly “trashed,” and Hunter allegedly left behind $80,000 in unpaid rent.
In a separate incident, Shaun Maguire, a partner at the prominent San Francisco investment firm Sequoia, claimed Hunter owed him approximately $300,000 in back rent from 2019 to 2020. Maguire detailed his grievances in a social media post, accusing Hunter of evading payments for over a year and resorting to unusual tactics to maintain control of the property.
Maguire alleged that Hunter offered to settle his rent debt with what he described as “a book of art made from his own feces.” The claim, as surreal as it sounds, quickly went viral on social media, igniting widespread criticism of Hunter’s behavior.
In his post, Maguire also stated that Hunter had “changed the locks” on the property and used Secret Service agents to deny the landlord access. Maguire’s home, a $2.5 million four-bedroom property in Venice, is described as a luxurious residence featuring a spa-like bathroom and abundant natural light.
These allegations come just hours after President Joe Biden issued a sweeping pardon for Hunter, covering a decade of potential legal issues and insulating him from criminal consequences. The pardon drew backlash across social media, with critics arguing it emboldened Hunter’s alleged misconduct.
“Joe Biden has not paid for years…. Just ask all those shops in Wilmington or all those trades that did work at his homes that he put out of business,” one user posted on X (formerly Twitter). Another added, “A presidential pardon does not waive liability for civil matters—Hunter’s landlords can still pursue their own legal rights.”
The revelation of unpaid rent, coupled with the bizarre art payment allegations, ignited a firestorm of reactions online. The story quickly gained traction, with many users mocking Hunter’s alleged antics and questioning the Biden family’s accountability.
One user wrote, “Hunter Biden offered poop art to settle a $300k debt and had Secret Service enforce it. You can’t make this stuff up.” Another commented, “Imagine trashing a multimillion-dollar property, skipping rent, and using government resources to avoid accountability. Unreal.”
While President Biden’s pardon shields Hunter from criminal prosecution, it does not absolve him of civil liabilities. Maguire and Neman could still file lawsuits to recover their losses, potentially forcing Hunter to address the alleged debts in court.
Critics argue that the allegations are emblematic of broader concerns about Hunter’s behavior and the perceived lack of consequences he faces. Judicial experts have noted that landlords could pursue civil remedies regardless of the pardon, which only applies to criminal matters.
Hunter Biden’s financial troubles and controversies are nothing new. From tax issues to business dealings in Ukraine and China, his actions have repeatedly drawn criticism and fueled allegations of favoritism and corruption. The latest rent scandal adds to a growing list of publicized disputes that critics say highlight his disregard for accountability.
The timing of these revelations, coinciding with the presidential pardon, has amplified calls for greater transparency and scrutiny of Hunter’s actions. Opponents of the Biden administration have seized on the scandal as evidence of preferential treatment for the president’s son.
“Presidential families should be held to the highest standards, not allowed to act with impunity,” a legal analyst commented. “This case raises serious questions about ethics, fairness, and accountability.”
As of now, neither Hunter Biden nor the White House has publicly responded to the allegations. The landlords involved could seek civil judgments to recover the alleged debts, though it remains unclear if legal action has been initiated.
While Hunter’s scandals continue to dominate headlines, the unresolved rent disputes serve as another flashpoint in the ongoing debate about his influence and privilege. Whether the landlords pursue legal remedies or the story fades into the background, the public’s fascination with Hunter’s actions is unlikely to wane anytime soon.
This latest controversy only adds to the growing perception of Hunter Biden as a polarizing figure—a lightning rod for criticism and a symbol of deeper political and ethical divides.

This story about Hunter Biden tell everything just how evil the Biden Family is!!! Also, how can they get by doing this when we will go to prison for a less minor crime? Our government is the most corrupt government in the world!!! The above comment is RIGHT!!!
And I though the Clintons were a bag of trash. But there are several people that have met with ….
Hunter Biden has raised constitutional questions about graft and corruption in the U.S. at the highest levels of government.
The pardon power of the President was never intended as a method to evade the law for blatant corruption and graft by the highest levels of government, especially for the President and his family members.
This is a power which refers ack to the Divine Rights of Kings, which the Constitutional Republic of the United States was actually established to do away with.
We don’t have a king in the US, although there are increasing concerns about the imperial presidency.
In the face of blatant abuse of this power, likely it needs to be subject to judicial review, or possibly Constitutional Amendment to limit its use, much as there was an amendment to limit the Presidency to two terms, after FDR was elected to the office four times, but died in office.
All the rhetoric about how Trump is a threat to democracy, how does anyone not see the corruption that has occurred with Biden/Harris in the WH? It’s nothing short of what has been said multiple times how bad the demonrats are but we, as patriots and Trump supporters are supposed to be the worst criminals, racist, and anything everything they want to throw out there. How many times have we seen counseling brought in over Obama and Biden being president. Honestly, it sickens me to see all these stinking liberals treat Trump in the manner they have and are still doing to justify how horrible it is by him being in the WH. I haven’t seen such antics in my 75 years that can compare to the way these idiot liberals continue to act to a man that not only was the best president in 2016-2020 that put our country first and bring back the solid foundation that we were born to.
