New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson says he still hasn’t unsealed the hat he wore when the team captured its first NBA championship in decades back in June — and he has no plans to anytime soon.
Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast “Roommates Show” with teammate Josh Hart, Brunson admitted the celebratory lid has sat untouched, zipped inside a bag since the title run.
“Mine is still not washed; it’s in the bag, and I’m afraid to open it,” Brunson said. “It smells terrible: Champagne, sweat, cigars, food, beer, tequila.”
Brunson did not say when, or if, he intends to retrieve the hat from its bag. For now, the artifact from the Knicks’ championship celebration remains sealed away, untouched since the on-court festivities.
