Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) is set to attend another Hollywood fundraiser on October 19, this time hosted by Miramax CEO Jonathan Glickman and United Talent Agency CEO David Kramer, according to Politico.
The event will be held in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles and comes just 15 days before Election Day. Other co-hosts listed include Hollywood attorney Tom Hoberman, whose past clients have included Elizabeth Taylor and Faye Dunaway; Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, CEO of the Gotham Group management company; and filmmaker Grant Heslov, a producer of Argo and Good Night, and Good Luck.
Tickets start at $250, with the top contribution level set at $7,000. Several of the hosts are established Democratic donors. Glickman and his wife, Christy Callahan, have hosted dozens of fundraisers at their Hancock Park home over the years, including events benefiting Kamala Harris, Cory Booker and Raphael Warnock.
Ossoff’s Republican opponent, Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA), seized on the event to question the senator’s priorities.
“You can’t represent Georgia when Hollywood is paying your bill,” Collins said. “He answers to them, not us.”
This is not the first Hollywood fundraiser Ossoff has attended this cycle. In September, he appeared alongside Rep. James Talarico at an event organized by Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof.
Despite the attacks over his fundraising circles, Ossoff holds a lead in recent polling. A Trafalgar Group survey conducted October 7-9 among 1,101 likely general election voters found Ossoff ahead of Collins by eight points, 51 percent to 43 percent, with 5.9 percent of respondents undecided. The poll carries a margin of error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.
