The pharmaceutical industry is reeling after President-elect Donald Trump announced Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as his pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Known for his outspoken criticism of vaccines and Big Pharma, RFK Jr.’s appointment sent shockwaves through the market, causing a sharp decline in the stocks of major vaccine manufacturers.
On Thursday, shortly after Trump’s announcement, BioNTech and Novavax each saw their stock prices tumble by over 7%, while Moderna experienced a 5.6% drop. Even industry giant Pfizer wasn’t spared, with its stock falling by more than 2%, according to CNBC. The sudden market shift reflects investor concerns over how RFK Jr.’s leadership might reshape the pharmaceutical landscape, especially regarding government contracts and vaccine mandates.

Trump’s decision to tap Kennedy aligns with his broader campaign to “Make America Healthy Again,” a slogan that mirrors his iconic “Make America Great Again” mantra. In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump expressed confidence in RFK Jr.’s ability to bring transparency and scientific integrity back to federal health agencies.
“Mr. Kennedy will restore these Agencies to the traditions of Gold Standard Scientific Research, and beacons of Transparency, to end the Chronic Disease epidemic, and to Make America Great and Healthy Again!” Trump wrote.
Kennedy echoed Trump’s sentiments in a post on X (formerly Twitter), pledging to combat corruption and eliminate the revolving door between government and industry. “Together we will clean up corruption, stop the revolving door between industry and government, and return our health agencies to their rich tradition of gold-standard, evidence-based science,” he wrote.
RFK Jr.’s appointment signals a dramatic shift in federal health policy. Known for his skepticism of vaccines and his criticism of pharmaceutical companies, Kennedy has long called for greater transparency in vaccine research and government oversight.
“I will provide Americans with transparency and access to all the data so they can make informed choices for themselves and their families,” Kennedy said. His vision for HHS includes prioritizing public health over corporate profits and addressing what he describes as a chronic disease epidemic affecting millions of Americans.
Thank you @realDonaldTrump for your leadership and courage. I’m committed to advancing your vision to Make America Healthy Again.

Kennedy’s appointment comes as a surprise twist in his relationship with Trump. Just days before the November 5 election, Kennedy revealed that he had prayed for nearly two decades for an opportunity to combat chronic disease and promote public health. “In August, God sent me Donald Trump,” he said, crediting divine intervention for his partnership with the President-elect.
Ladies and gentlemen, your new HHS Secretary, Bobby Kennedy Jr.:
“I asked God for 19 years to put me in a position where I could end the chronic disease epidemic and bring health back to our children, and in August, God sent me Donald Trump.”

While Kennedy’s nomination has sparked alarm among pharmaceutical executives and investors, it has received an unexpectedly warm reception across party lines. Democratic Colorado Governor Jared Polis took to social media to praise the move, calling it an exciting development.
“He helped us defeat vaccine mandates in Colorado in 2019 and will help make America healthy again by shaking up HHS and FDA,” Polis said in a post. He also emphasized his hope that Kennedy would prioritize personal choice in vaccine decisions, rather than pursuing outright bans.
“I hope he leans into personal choice on vaccines rather than bans (which I think are terrible, just like mandates),” Polis added. “But what I’m most optimistic about is taking on Big Pharma and the corporate ag oligopoly to improve our health.”
I’m excited by the news that the President-Elect will appoint @RobertKennedyJr to @HHSGov. The market’s reaction underscores the pharmaceutical industry’s apprehension about Kennedy’s leadership. His history of challenging vaccine safety and his calls for more stringent oversight could disrupt the lucrative relationship between drug manufacturers and government health agencies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, companies like Pfizer, Moderna, and BioNTech reaped enormous profits from government-funded vaccine programs. However, Kennedy’s tenure at HHS may herald a period of heightened scrutiny and reduced reliance on such partnerships.
Critics of Big Pharma have long argued that the industry wields too much influence over public health policy. Kennedy’s appointment is seen by many as a step toward curbing that power and ensuring that health decisions are guided by independent science rather than corporate interests.
Kennedy’s role as HHS Secretary is poised to be one of the most consequential appointments in Trump’s administration. His mission to overhaul the nation’s health system and tackle entrenched interests in the pharmaceutical and agricultural industries will undoubtedly face significant resistance. Yet, for millions of Americans disillusioned with the current state of public health, Kennedy represents a beacon of hope for a healthier, more transparent future.
As Kennedy prepares to take the helm of HHS, the nation—and the world—will be watching closely to see how his leadership reshapes the landscape of American healthcare. His promise to restore trust in federal health agencies and combat the chronic disease epidemic could mark a turning point in the battle for a healthier America.

FINALLY, A TRUE BATTLE CAPTAIN!
America, we are now on the path to make America great again. Why? Because over 75 million of us have elected the very first true ‘Battle Captain’ as our President and Commander-in-Chief. Why Do I say Donald Trump is our first true Battle Captain? Because, Donald Trump is the first president to regularly demonstrate that the ‘Seven C’s of Leadership’ are a part of his character. The ‘Seven C’s of Leadership’ listed in the order of their importance in a survey of 1645 ground combat veterans are: CANDOR, COMPETENCE, COMMITMENT, CONSISTENCY, COURAGE, COMPASSION, and COURTESY.
As one of the army officers charged with finding a true Battle Captain among all those army officers serving this nation from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam Conflict, I can testify that we only found one officer who made the grade of ‘Battle Captain’. And, he like Donald Trump was not a professional soldier. A year before the Battle of Gettysburg he was a college professor, yet most historians credit him for saving the Union Forces left flank and forcing General Lee to commit his forces to a frontal attack which failed. The Battle of Gettysburg is generally credited as the turning point of the Civil War and lead to the surrender of the Confederate Forces two years later.
Donald Trump has proven that he is indeed a Battle Captain. He has turned the attacks on our flanks and now I am confident he will succeed in an overwhelming envelopment of all the forces trying to destroy America. God bless and protect Donald Trump, and God Bless and protect America as we help Donald Trump make America great again.

I’m convinced that the entire Medical industry is in bed with the Pharmaceutical industry. Doctors get a kickback for every pill they prescribe. My shrink was more interested in how the current antidepressant (and we tried a dozen) was working for me than the problems that were making me depressed. I quit going to see her and went off all Meds.
Every time I go to (my quack of a) Doctor, all he wants to do is prescribe pills and unwanted “vaccines”.
Never mind that I had a torn muscle in the back of my leg- the doctor wanted to shoot me up with the phony Covid “vaccine”. I dumped my (quack of a) doctor and I’m afraid to go to the hospital.
