Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a stunning message during a press conference on Thanksgiving Day, offering both a dire warning and a scathing critique of American politics. Speaking candidly, Putin alleged that former U.S. President Donald Trump remains at risk of assassination even after reclaiming the Oval Office, while accusing Trump’s political opponents of behavior worse than that of Russian gangsters.
The Russian leader’s remarks not only underscored his support for Trump but also highlighted his disdain for what he called the degradation of America’s political system.
In a widely shared statement, Putin painted a grim picture of the dangers Trump allegedly faces. He claimed that Trump has endured multiple assassination attempts and suggested that the former president remains in danger despite his victory in the 2024 election.
“Well, probably just like me, you are amazed, not by the fact that absolutely uncivilized means had been used against Trump, all the way up to the assassination attempts—numerous assassination attempts,” Putin said. “And I think he’s not safe even now.”
While Putin did not provide specifics or evidence to substantiate his claims, his assertion underscores the perception of heightened political tensions and division in the United States.
Putin expressed admiration for Trump’s intelligence and experience, predicting that the former president would successfully navigate the challenges ahead, including ongoing tensions surrounding the war in Ukraine.
“As far as I can imagine, the newly elected president is an intelligent and already quite experienced person. I think he will find a solution [to the Ukraine war],” Putin said. He also praised Trump’s resilience, noting the intense personal and legal battles Trump faced during his political comeback.
“President Trump, a smart and experienced person, will come up with a solution, especially given that he has gone through quite an ordeal of fighting to reclaim the Oval Office,” he added.
In one of the most striking portions of his address, Putin accused Trump’s opponents, including Democrats, of stooping lower than even the most ruthless Russian criminal gangs. He criticized the personal attacks on Trump’s family, specifically referencing the treatment of Trump’s children.
“But what amazed me most,” Putin said, “is that in fighting him, not only Trump was subjected to humiliating court procedures, accusations, and so on. But his family was attacked as well. His children were attacked.”
Putin claimed that such tactics are beneath the standards of criminal gangs in Russia, saying, “Gangsters don’t do this in Russia. When criminal gangs fight, they don’t touch children and women. It’s men who fight among themselves. But those guys stooped as low as that.”
The Russian president described these actions as evidence of what he perceives to be the decline of the American political system, adding, “This looks so bad that it only reaffirms, reconfirms how low the political system of the United States has fallen.”
Putin’s comments come amidst heightened global tensions and increasing polarization within the U.S. political landscape. Trump’s re-election has been accompanied by a resurgence of criticism from his opponents, including allegations of criminal misconduct and concerns over his policy positions.
Meanwhile, Putin’s remarks highlight the perception among some international observers that the U.S. is grappling with a crisis of political legitimacy and fairness.
Critics of Putin have suggested that his statements are part of a broader effort to undermine confidence in U.S. democracy while bolstering Trump, who has historically expressed a willingness to engage diplomatically with Russia.
Putin’s comments quickly went viral, with reactions divided along ideological lines. Supporters of Trump saw the remarks as validation of their concerns about a “Deep State” conspiracy against the former president. Others, however, dismissed Putin’s words as propaganda designed to inflame tensions and sow distrust in American institutions.
The comparison to Russian gangsters drew particular attention, with some commentators arguing that the statement was both an insult to U.S. politics and an ironic commentary on Putin’s own history of alleged human rights abuses and suppression of political opposition in Russia.
As Trump prepares to take office again, Putin’s remarks serve as a reminder of the intense scrutiny and challenges that await the 45th—and now 47th—president. Accusations of political persecution and debates over the state of U.S. democracy will likely remain central themes during his second term.
Putin’s sharp critique also highlights a growing international narrative that views American politics as increasingly chaotic and hostile. Whether this narrative gains further traction depends on how Trump and his administration address the significant domestic and international challenges ahead.
For now, Putin’s comments have added fuel to an already raging political fire, further polarizing public opinion and intensifying the global spotlight on Trump’s return to power. As the former president navigates this precarious landscape, the world will be watching closely to see whether he can overcome the obstacles Putin warns about—or whether the challenges prove insurmountable.

I think Putin is totally right anybody in the World knows what is going on in this Country.
What is going on in this country is the WEF/Klaus Schwab, referred to as the “Great Reset.” What is means is undermining the American way of life and destroying the country. The immigration/invasion is one of the tools being used. The Biden-Harris Administration spent $374 million trafficking underage children.
It’s all about the money. Money for Kamal’s campaign came mostly from Billionaire donors who don’t want the Epstein records opened. Another big slice of those funds came from George Soros. I don’t understand why he or son Alex are allowed in this country.
I agree with Crossram and Mike Julian.
I do too jeanette; and they’ve been manipulating the citizens here and abroad while buying off whoever they can in the ruling class to be partisans under Globalist Authoritarian Power which has the aim of total Totalitarian Control of the Human Race to be like slaves to these evil power mongers and Satan worshiping devils!
Remember, evil Soros way back in WWII as a teen aided the Nazis in locating Jews that were in hiding so they could be shipped off to the death camps while he enjoyed obtaining some of their possessions; truly he is a diabolical monster along with many others right here in America, AKA Biden, Harris, Clinton’s, Schumer, Pelosi, McConnell, Romney etc et cetera!
Why does Putin NOT go after Obama, Nuland and other CIA/State Departent pukes that enflamed the peaceful 2014 Ukrainian protests into a war? He has my permission!
