Chelsea Green’s long-awaited championship moment lasted only minutes before it was taken from her by someone she trusted. At WWE Crown Jewel on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Green stunned Liv Morgan to win the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship, only to lose it almost immediately when Tiffany Stratton cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase against her.
Green’s win over Morgan came after a chaotic sequence in which Morgan had sent her Judgment Day allies, Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez, to the back, insisting she didn’t need their help. Morgan controlled much of the match, but a brief lapse in focus allowed Green to catch her off guard and score the victory.
Green celebrated with an emotional reaction to the crowd. “It’s been a long 13 years. … I do deserve it,” she said. “Thirteen years I left blood, sweat, tears in this ring. They told me for 13 years, I didn’t deserve it. They told me for 13 years that all I was a placeholder and a stepping stone for everybody else. Thirteen years I was overlooked. And now, we did it baby You can officially call me the greatest women’s champion of all time.”
The celebration didn’t last. Morgan blindsided Green until Tiffany Stratton, holder of the Women’s Money in the Bank contract, emerged from the crowd and struck Morgan with her briefcase. When Perez and Rodriguez attempted to intervene, Green fought them off, and it appeared Stratton was setting up to cash in against Morgan.
Instead, Stratton turned on Green. She hit her with the briefcase, delivered the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, and pinned Green to win the title for herself.
It marked Stratton’s second women’s championship reign. Beyond taking the title, she also walked off with the physical Crown Jewel Championship belt and ring that had been awarded to Green, leaving Green in tears. Green reportedly still holds recognition as the Crown Jewel champion, even as Stratton made clear through the takeaway of the title’s physical trappings that she intends to assert control.
This is not the first time Stratton has turned a friendship into a championship opportunity. She did the same to Nia Jax last year after cashing in her 2024 Money in the Bank briefcase, continuing a pattern of using the contract to betray those close to her inside WWE’s storylines.
