Russia has reportedly launched its most substantial drone attack on Ukraine since the conflict began over three years ago, as stated by a Ukrainian official on Monday. Yuriy Ihnat, the spokesperson for Ukraine’s air force, revealed that the assault late Sunday involved a massive deployment of 355 drones, marking a new phase in Moscow’s aggressive strategy. This significant escalation underscores the ongoing tensions in the region.
President Donald Trump addressed the attack, asserting that Russian President Vladimir Putin has lost his mind. Trump noted the increasing intensity of the strikes as the U.S. endeavors to mediate peace. “I’ve always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!” Trump proclaimed on Truth Social.
Trump emphasized the senseless violence, stating, “He is needlessly killing a lot of people, and I’m not just talking about soldiers. Missiles and drones are being shot into Cities in Ukraine, for no reason whatsoever.” Trump reiterated his longstanding belief that Putin desires to seize all of Ukraine, not just a portion of it.
The previous night witnessed Russia firing 298 drones and 69 missiles of varying types at Ukraine. Ukrainian officials described this as the largest combined aerial assault during the conflict. Between Friday and Sunday, Russia reportedly launched approximately 900 drones at Ukraine, marking a significant uptick in aggression.
This escalation seems to dampen hopes that Trump’s peace efforts could lead to a breakthrough soon. Putin appears resolute in his ambition to claim more Ukrainian territory and cause further destruction. Russia has repeatedly broken its record for aerial bombardments of Ukraine this month.
Despite a 30-day ceasefire proposed by the U.S. and accepted by Kyiv in March, Moscow effectively dismissed it. Russia continues to push along the extensive front line, making gradual and costly advances. Ukrainian officials and military analysts suggest that Russia is regrouping for a summer offensive.
Kaja Kallas, vice-president of the European Commission, condemned the latest Russian strikes on Kyiv as “totally appalling.” She promised that the European Union would respond with yet another round of sanctions against Moscow. Whether these sanctions will have any tangible effect remains uncertain.
Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed frustration, stating, “Only a sense of complete impunity can allow Russia to carry out such attacks and continually escalate their scale.” He noted that the attacks lack significant military logic but carry substantial political implications. Zelensky is once again urging for stricter international sanctions on Russia.
Zelensky argues that cutting off Russia’s resources is crucial to halting the war. “Russia’s desire to fight must be deprived of resources,” he insisted. However, Trump also voiced criticism towards Zelensky, accusing him of exacerbating the situation.
According to Trump, Zelensky is “doing his Country no favors by talking the way he does.” Trump expressed his disapproval, stating, “Everything out of his mouth causes problems, I don’t like it, and it better stop.” He emphasized that this conflict would not have commenced under his presidency.
Trump labeled the war as “Zelenskyy’s, Putin’s, and Biden’s War, not ‘Trump’s,’” and declared that he is merely trying to extinguish the “big and ugly fires.” He attributed the conflict to “Gross Incompetence and Hatred.” These remarks highlight the ongoing blame game among global leaders.

Putin is absolutely stock-raving mad and evil!
His master is the same one that controlled Lenin, Marx, Stalin, and all the rest of that infamous communist cult! Its venom has spread far and wide and is now eating away at the foundational construct of Christian morals, values and principles that America itself was established upon; it’s very bedrock which is crumbling beneath us!
God help us and quickly send Saint Archangel Michael and his angels upon this Nation to intercede wherever you deem necessary in order to vanquish all these enemies of America’s faithful, in Jesus’ name I pray!
Amen.
