In a recent interview with MSNBC’s Kirsten Welker, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina shared his thoughts on President Trump’s decision to pardon individuals involved in the January 6 events.
Graham, often perceived as a moderate Republican, expressed his belief that Trump’s pardoning of these individuals was a “mistake.” Comparing the situation to the actions of Black Lives Matter rioters during the previous summer’s protests, he emphasized the difference between peaceful protest and violent actions.
President Trump had taken a bold step by freeing over 1,500 people whom many see as political prisoners. These individuals had been detained by what some describe as the Biden/Obama shadow government for questioning the legitimacy of the 2020 election.
Many of them lost loved ones, jobs, and their standing in the community, all to further a narrative that Trump was guilty of wrongdoing on January 6. Yet, videos from the day show a different story where Capitol Police used excessive force against protestors.
On that fateful day, a large crowd of Trump supporters gathered at the White House Elipse. They had come to hear President Trump speak. He urged them to march “peacefully and patriotically” to the Capitol to make their voices heard. However, what unfolded was far from peaceful, with chaos erupting, allegedly incited by federal agents and perhaps some leftist infiltrators. Reports indicate that Capitol Police fired rubber bullets and tear gas at the crowd without prior warning.
Inspector General David Horowitz’s report on January 6 brought some revelations. According to the report, the Department of Justice had 26 “confidential human sources” within the Trump protest at the Capitol. However, the report did not fully disclose how many undercover operatives were present. There’s speculation that the DOJ’s figures are underreported, as previous reports suggested the FBI lost track of its operatives and informants on that day.
Many of those charged in connection with the January 6 protest found themselves cornered into accepting plea deals. The alternative was facing an unforgiving far-left DC courthouse, known for its harsh sentences. This included charges of assaulting police officers, even in instances where individuals were defending themselves or others, as they were met with brutal force from law enforcement.
Senator Graham, when questioned about those who accepted plea deals, remarked that they “went into the Capitol and beat up a police officer violently,” calling it a “mistake.” He drew a parallel to Trump supporters and leftists “burning down Minneapolis,” suggesting both actions were wrong.
During the interview, Welker addressed Trump’s blanket pardons for those involved in January 6, including the 172 individuals who pleaded guilty to assaulting law enforcement officers. Even with Vice President Pence’s stance that those who committed violence should not be pardoned, Graham acknowledged Trump’s legal authority to issue pardons but worried about the potential for increased violence.
Graham noted that while Trump had the right to pardon, it set a concerning precedent. He mentioned Kamala Harris’s support for raising bail for those involved in Minneapolis protests, pointing out a perceived double standard. He also referenced President Biden’s pardons, suggesting that if such actions continue, there might be a need to revisit the presidential pardon power.
When Welker asked Graham about the message Trump’s pardons send to law enforcement, Graham affirmed Trump’s historical support for law enforcement. He pointed out that many law enforcement officers who backed Trump were displeased with the pardons. However, he acknowledged that Trump had been transparent about his intentions during his campaign.
In discussing the broader implications of pardoning individuals who engaged in violence against police, Graham reiterated his stance against such actions, irrespective of political affiliation.
He emphasized his belief that neither Republicans nor Democrats should support bailing out or pardoning those who engage in violence against law enforcement or cause destruction in cities.

I say this evil backstabbing Judas SOB Graham deserves Hell, but First GITMO! Traitor to the Nth Degree!
Jan.6th was a pre-planned, coordinated set-up by “Pelosi and Associates”… orchestrated for the sole purpose of again vilifying President Trump and all of his supporters. This FACT was obvious from the moment that Nancy refused Trump’s offer of sufficent National Guard troops that would have prevented ANY incusion into the Capitol, despite the 26+ government employees (confidential human sources) and other agent proivacateurs in the crowd. AND these troops would have prevented the muder of an unarmed Ashley Babbitt by a Capitolm policeman.
I have lost the last vestiges of respect I once had for Lindsey Graham…trying to compare the J6 demonstrators to the rioters who looted, defaced and burned public and private property to the tune of hundreds of millions in damages during the 2020 “summer of love.”
Exactly and Graham is one twisted, evil and sick bastard! When I saw his horns pop out during Trump’s first term in office; I knew he was a wicked lost devil!
Oh what God does with such monstrous hypocrites!
Note: Politicians, bureaucrats, academicians, and most media folks, suggest most of you best do your research and educate yourselves on the details of envelopment operations for that is what Donald is bringing to American government at every level (see message below). At least dig your foxholes deeper and add overhead cover. Also, those of you who support all the unchecked opposition to Donald Trump and/or his programs, and all you Rinos who ride on his coattails yet refuse to stand beside him better thank the Lord that Donald has refused (so far) to accept the “clean the swamp” plan submitted to him by a group of retired military officers. Have a nice day. Soldier/Cop, Retired
OUR LAST HOPE, A TRUE BATTLE CAPTAIN!
America, we are once again on the path to make America great again. Why? Because over 75 million of us have re-elected the very first true ‘Battle Captain’ to ever serve as our President and Commander-in-Chief. Why do I say Donald Trump is our first true Battle Captain? Because, Donald Trump is the first president to regularly demonstrate that the ‘Seven C’s of Leadership’ are a part of his character. The ‘Seven C’s of Leadership’ listed in the order of their importance as determined in a 1980 survey of 1645 ground combat veterans are: CANDOR, COMPETENCE, COMMITMENT, CONSISTENCY, COURAGE, COMPASSION, and COURTESY.
As one of the army officers charged with finding a true Battle Captain among all those army officers serving this nation from the Revolutionary War through the Vietnam Conflict, I can testify that we only found one officer who made the grade of ‘Battle Captain’. And, he like Donald Trump was not a professional soldier. A year before the Battle of Gettysburg he was a college professor, yet most historians credit him for saving the Union Forces left flank and forcing General Lee to commit his forces to a frontal attack which failed. The Battle of Gettysburg is generally credited as the turning point of the Civil War and lead to the surrender of the Confederate Forces two years later.
Donald Trump has proven that he is indeed a Battle Captain. He has turned the attacks on our flanks and now I am confident he will succeed in an overwhelming envelopment of all the forces trying to destroy America. God bless and protect Donald Trump, and God Bless and protect America as we help Donald Trump make America great again. I leave you with one question. Are you willing to fight for America, your family, and/or yourself?
Soldier/Cop, Retired
Graham that’s why you’re just a lonely POS who should have retired years ago. Your just a
Wannabe politician clown that’s why Americans voted for Trump because the didn’t want flunkies like you leading America so shut your pie hole and get on board or get your tired ass run over before you become more of a disgrace to yourself and America.
Sue that is for a fact and I would prefer he just go away and never be seen or heard from again; maybe retire on some far away Island!
I’ve had it with Graham. He’s terribly uninformed. The vast majority of “violence” was conducted by the Capitol Police, the protesters defended themselves as best they could. The Capitol Police killed 4 innocent people that day. Each and every single Jan 6 protester was denied their Constitutional rights, no speedy trial, no change of venue, no bail, rigged DC courts, mad dog prosecutors. Supreme Court even had to shut down incorrect charges. For that alone, they deserve to be pardoned.
Duane, all so very sadly true and this isn’t the America anymore that most of us grew up in!
How can he compare riots where people were killed with blm and antifa attacks on many cities where millions of
dollars in damage went unpunished by the democrats.Any one with a brain knows J6th was all on Pelosi and the deep state.People were let in to the capitol with open doors and only walked around and then spent 4 years in jail without
being charged with anything.Another disaster was the riots about Geoge Floyd who actually died of a massive drug overdose
and the officer that is in jail for this will eventually released and then he can sue the government for millions.
WILLIAM KAISER, all absolutely true and for him to be denying all of it means to me he is one EVIL SOB that should be in hell already! He’s always been a two-faced backstabbing loser and he wants to just hold onto some power and remain relevant he is so twisted and sick deep in his soul! He has the same maniacal disease that Killery has only he supposed to be a man which he sure doesn’t hold a candle to!
Grahamnesty is Fkin RINO! Recall the P0S!
CharlieSeattle, clearly 100% RINO and shithead too!
