A major watchdog group has declared its commitment to obtaining and releasing audio recordings of a conversation between President Joe Biden and his ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer. The recordings, reportedly linked to Special Counsel Robert Hur’s investigation into Biden’s handling of classified documents, have become a lightning rod for controversy. Biden has invoked executive privilege to shield the tapes, but Republicans argue that the privilege is invalid since transcripts of the conversations have already been disclosed.
Attorney General Merrick Garland classified the audio as “Top Secret,” locking the recordings away in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF), a move that has only intensified scrutiny. In response, the Oversight Project, a prominent watchdog group, has promised to bring the recordings to public attention.
“Our team will get the audio tape of Joe Biden’s interview to you,” the Oversight Project announced in a tweet, insisting that the American public has a right to access the recordings.
The controversy stems from Special Counsel Robert Hur’s 345-page report released earlier this year, which delved into Joe Biden’s alleged mishandling of classified documents. Hur’s findings indicate that Biden “willfully retained” classified materials, including SCIF-designated documents. However, despite evidence of wrongdoing, Hur opted not to charge the president.
One particularly troubling revelation in the report involved Biden’s interactions with Zwonitzer. The report states that in 2017, Biden read classified material aloud to his ghostwriter on at least three occasions, verbatim, during discussions related to Situation Room meetings. Although Biden’s actions seemingly violated federal law, no charges were filed.
The controversy deepened when it was revealed that Mark Zwonitzer deleted digital audio files of his conversations with Biden shortly after learning of Hur’s appointment as Special Counsel. Though the files were deleted before Zwonitzer received a subpoena, forensic technicians managed to recover some of the audio recordings from an external hard drive labeled “Audio.”
The report noted discrepancies in the recovered files:
- Portions of three files were missing.
- A fourth file had sections overwritten with unrelated recordings.
Zwonitzer provided investigators with corresponding transcripts summarizing the content of the conversations, including two with Joe Biden and two with Beau Biden’s doctor. Despite evidence of tampering and deletion, Zwonitzer was not charged for his actions.
The decision not to prosecute Zwonitzer has sparked outrage among conservatives, who see a double standard in the Justice Department’s handling of politically sensitive cases. Earlier this year, the House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Zwonitzer in contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with subpoenas related to the investigation.
Prominent Republicans have amplified the issue, with Representative Elise Stefanik revealing that Biden was recorded telling Zwonitzer he had “just found all the classified stuff downstairs.” This admission has fueled GOP allegations of gross negligence and misuse of executive privilege.
The Oversight Project’s vow to release the tapes has brought renewed attention to the case. The group insists that shielding the audio from public scrutiny undermines transparency and accountability, particularly in matters involving classified information.
Critics argue that Biden’s invocation of executive privilege is a tactic to suppress potentially damaging information. Legal experts are divided on whether executive privilege applies in this case, given that the transcripts have already been disclosed and the recordings pertain to actions taken before Biden assumed the presidency.
The case has also raised questions about the role of ghostwriters and their access to sensitive information. Zwonitzer’s involvement in transcribing classified material read aloud by Biden has led to calls for stricter regulations governing such interactions.
As the watchdog group intensifies its efforts to release the audio recordings, the political stakes continue to rise. The tapes, if made public, could provide crucial insight into Biden’s handling of classified documents and the Justice Department’s decision not to press charges.
“This recording is yours. It belongs to you. You deserve to know,” the Oversight Project asserted, emphasizing its commitment to exposing the truth.

The Biden administration has so far remained tight-lipped on the matter, while Republicans demand accountability and transparency. The scandal has the potential to shape political narratives heading into the next election cycle, particularly as Biden faces criticism for alleged ethical lapses and a lack of transparency.
The saga surrounding Joe Biden’s conversation with his ghostwriter underscores the importance of transparency in government, particularly when national security is at stake. The Oversight Project’s pledge to release the audio recordings has reignited debates about accountability, executive privilege, and the handling of classified information.
As the story unfolds, the American public awaits answers—and perhaps, the audio tapes that could shed light on one of the most contentious issues of Biden’s presidency.

Iranian/DeepState drone strike on DC Jan.20, 2025.
Why hasn’t Biden been charged with Treason yet. There was enough criminal information on him to have indicted him years ago. He committed so much Treason he should Bin prosecuted and charged and in front of a firing squad already. Democrats covered up so many criminal crimes against Biden it’s also time to get the other culprits involved in these conspiracy crimes they all belong in prison. Most corrupt administration ever and it’s time for a major investigation into all democrats and indict them all and prosecute them all. They belong in prison.
“he’s too old and feeble to be indicted” Just like when HE took classified and stored it next to his Corvette.
Biden is all for “law and order” and “no one is above the law. Yet how many peon are doing time, for drug offenses, with mush less evidence then sonny boy? Plus firearm and tax laws don’t apply either. If ever there was a RICO case, the Biden’s are example number one!
That whole family belongs in prison even sharing one cell to creep each other out would be fitting!
“he’s too old and feeble to be indicted” is that so! But not too feeble to be the President of the most powerful nation in the free world with the nuclear football!!! This bullshit story never flew nor will it ever he should have hung at GITMO long ago and still should for all of his Treason!
But the people pushing these fantasy stories think all Americans are supposed to be as lame or stupid as the idiots that voted any Demoncraps into office!
Perhaps whoever is pulling his puppet strings should face that verdict?
Biden needs arrested on any number of charges and held for treason. His whole family was on the take from his selling of government favors. The DOJ fabricated charges against Trump at Biden’s direction, yet he was guilty of the same activities. This is not the time for forgive and forget. The Democrats tried to take down the country. Punishment is mandatory.
That’s exactly what I’m saying too! Enough of these bullshit charades and start sentencing these major traitor criminals to the death penalty!
Correct!!!
The reason he is still in office is because the democrats are backed by all the news medias and others instead of prison the family should be striped of all money and property and retirement and put on the welfare rolls and made to live the same way us poor people who live off of 1.500 $ a month and be banned from working any Government job down to garbage collector they should be never allowed to have more than a 1,000 in any bank in the world
the best thing to do to the Bidens is strip the family of everything they have money, property jurally such as rings and such they cannot have anything worth more than 1000 $ except two cars family make them live like the poor people of the USA
That shouldn’t make a difference we all known for years your brains are in your diaper. They should turn you up side down so your diaper runs back to your head. Is dr.jill going to change you every day or hunter. That’s probably why you pardoned him
