As Hurricane Helene ravages the southeastern U.S., multiple whistleblowers have come forward, exposing severe mismanagement within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The allegations, made public through a letter from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), accuse FEMA of withholding critical pre-disaster funds and failing to issue deployment orders to first responders, leaving Americans stranded in the storm’s aftermath.
Rep. Gaetz’s letter, addressed to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, outlines a range of concerns from whistleblowers embedded across various emergency management agencies. The letter paints a grim picture of a federal agency overwhelmed by inefficiency and misallocation of resources, just as one of the year’s most devastating hurricanes hits the U.S. coast.
According to these whistleblowers, FEMA not only withheld pre-disaster aid but also left “hundreds if not thousands” of service members and first responders without orders, forcing them to wait in hotels while the storm wreaked havoc on local communities. As Hurricane Helene bore down on the southeastern U.S., the agency’s lack of coordination left emergency responders unable to take immediate action, exacerbating the devastation.
Reports suggest that many responders, deployed by the Department of Defense to North Carolina, have been sitting idle, waiting for FEMA to provide them with deployment orders. In the meantime, local citizens struggle to cope with the disaster, facing severe shortages of food, water, and medicine.
The timing of these revelations could not be worse for FEMA, which has already faced scrutiny over its preparedness for this year’s hurricane season. Just days before Helene struck, Secretary Mayorkas admitted that FEMA “does not have enough funds to make it through the hurricane season,” raising serious questions about the agency’s capacity to handle disaster relief effectively.
Gaetz’s letter goes on to claim that FEMA has been diverting critical funds to non-disaster-related priorities, specifically to aid illegal immigrants. These funds, which should have been allocated for disaster relief, are allegedly being used to cover the costs of border enforcement failures.
According to reports from whistleblowers, over $1 billion intended for American disaster relief has instead been funneled into resettling illegal immigrants through programs like the “Shelter and Services Program.” The Gateway Pundit previously reported that FEMA funds were being used by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to purchase airline tickets for migrants—a misallocation of resources at a time when U.S. citizens are in desperate need of disaster assistance.
In his letter, Gaetz criticized this apparent mismanagement, stating:
“This news comes after FEMA has spent hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars on migrants due to Border Czar Kamala Harris’ open border, instead of prioritizing funding for Americans impacted by disasters.”
The whistleblowers’ allegations also highlight the failure to mobilize first responders in a timely manner. While service members and emergency responders have been deployed to the disaster zone, they remain stuck in hotels, awaiting further orders. This bureaucratic gridlock has left disaster victims stranded, as vital personnel capable of assisting in rescue and recovery efforts sit idle.
According to Gaetz, the scale of the failure is staggering. He reports that “hundreds, if not thousands” of service members were in limbo due to FEMA’s inaction. Furthermore, pre-disaster aid that should have been distributed to affected areas in advance was reportedly withheld, making the crisis even more severe.
The congressman also noted that FEMA employees themselves have been left without clear instructions, adding another layer of dysfunction to the agency’s response.
Rep. Gaetz’s letter is not just a list of grievances but a call for accountability. In his correspondence with Secretary Mayorkas, Gaetz demanded answers to several critical questions, including:
- What policies and regulations are in place to prevent FEMA funds from being used for non-citizens, and what conditions are imposed on grantees to ensure that disaster relief funds are spent on American citizens?
- Of FEMA’s total budget for fiscal year 2024, what portion has been spent on non-citizens, and how much has been guaranteed for disaster relief for U.S. citizens?
- How much of the Disaster Relief Fund in FY 2024 has been diverted to non-disaster-related programs, such as border services for illegal immigrants or routine FEMA employee training?
Gaetz has given Secretary Mayorkas until October 11, 2024, to provide answers to these questions, demanding clarity on how FEMA’s funds are being managed and whether American citizens are truly the agency’s priority.
The whistleblower revelations have cast a harsh spotlight on FEMA’s leadership and, by extension, the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of disaster preparedness and response. As the cleanup from Hurricane Helene continues, pressure is mounting on the administration to explain how disaster relief funds have been used and why first responders have been left without orders during such a critical time.
These latest allegations also come at a politically sensitive moment, with President Biden’s disaster response already under fire following previous incidents of slow federal aid delivery. Comparisons to the infamous federal response to Hurricane Katrina in 2005 have begun to surface, with critics warning that FEMA’s apparent mismanagement could become a political liability for the Biden administration heading into the 2024 election.
In the meantime, as Gaetz and other lawmakers press for transparency, the people affected by Hurricane Helene remain in urgent need of aid, waiting for FEMA to finally deliver the support they desperately require.

The American public deserves to know how their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent, especially during times of crisis. As we face an unprecedented hurricane season, the failure of FEMA to prioritize American citizens over non-citizens is not just a misallocation of resources—it’s a national disgrace, it’s treason.
The time for accountability is now.

I didn’t know that Mayorkas was in charge of FEMA, that should explain everything. He is all for illegals getting everything and American can go suck a lemon. Every person from either party should be angry at this. Every state is not immune to a disaster of some sort and to run out of funds is horrible. Just like the governemt ACP free phone program for low incom Srs. and other Americans they are also out of money. Of course they are they gave free phones to the illegals and now low income people who were on that much needed program have to pay for a phone plan now and they aren’t cheap for someone living check to check each month. Inflation is bad enough on other things to add phones on top if it. This Administration is all for illegals, whether they are from Radical countries, criminals or anything else. They are only interested in votes to stay in power. People when you get ready to vote, remember your state could be the next disaster and how would you feel if you couldn’t get aid to save your family, think about it, disasters happen in many ways.
RAPE, PILLAGE, PLUNDER; AMERICA YOU’VE BEEN HAD! AND, NOW I THINK IT MAY BE TOO LATE TO SAVE YOURSELVES!
My fellow Americans, as a soldier/cop I have been trying since 1982 to make each of you aware of the primary threats to your way of life. I have asked Americans over and over again what will it take for you to stand up and take back those rights given to you by God and promised to be respected/protected by our founding fathers when they drafted the Constitution?
Now, In consideration of all of the corruption/incompetence/treachery/etc., coming forth into the brightest light ever thanks to the Biden/Harris administration and their supporters here/around the world, I am just asking where most of you Americans stand in regards to your country and in regards for your rights/roles/duties as citizens.
Seems the arrival of Donald J. Trump followed by Biden’s assumption of the Presidency has stripped us all naked to expose not only the sores on our bodies, but those on our souls as well!
The lessons learned I am passing on to you may give you a glimpse into the inner world of a government that devotes most of its time/energy ruling you versus serving/protecting you from the vantage point of one who served in government from the municipal through the federal level as a soldier and cop. See if you can determine which of the lessons learned presented below were pre-Trump versus post-Trump?
Most of the lessons learned (Note: After the Biden/Harris performance to date in dealing with Hurricane Helene I have only included those lessons learned most relevant to the current situation) were originally drafted in the late eighties as the prelude to a book titled: ‘Rape, Pillage, Plunder; America, You’ve Been Had!’ The Department of Defense denied permission to publish the book in that they classified an investigation detailed therein that named a gaggle of politicians and bureaucrats at every level of government as subjects. Three of those subjects went on to be elected to the office of President of the United States of America!
A SOLDIER/COP’S LESSONS LEARNED
*The end goal of the elites and their minions is not (nor ever has been) socialism, communism, fascism, or capitalism. The elites of the world and their minions have used all manner of ideologies, religions, terrorism, wars, etc., to drive the masses/peasants/serfs/whoever/whomever/whatever in one direction. That direction leads to one of the oldest forms of human control ever employed in the history of mankind. That form of human control is; “FEUDALISM!”
* The Seven C’s of Leadership according to a survey of Vietnam era ground combat veterans listed of the order of their importance to the veterans are; Candor, Competence, Consistency, Commitment, Courage, Compassion, and Courtesy. The reason the veterans chose “candor” is because candor encompasses both omission and co-mission. To a combat veteran the lack of absolute candor, be it co-mission or omission, are equal sins! It has been my observation that, democrats are masters of co-mission while republicans are masters of omission!
*The American people are the most effectively lied to people in modern times thanks primarily to the political class, the bureaucracy, the media, and academia.
*The greatest threats to the American people are the corrupt and/or incompetent politicians/bureaucrats/academicians found at every level of government/academia, and the majority of the so-called media.
*The second greatest threat to the American people is that presented by radical Muslims bent on riding the world of non-believers and installing Sharia as the only law of the land and Islam as the world’s only religion.
*Most of the politicians/bureaucrats/academicians/media types I have encountered during my years as a soldier and a cop I most kindly refer to as; self-serving, witless, cowards. Prior to retiring to the deep woods I referred to most of the before mentioned folks as self-serving, witless, cowardly, piss-ants. After a short time in the woods I came to know that piss-ants are neither self-serving nor witless, and certainly not cowards!
*The American Profession of Arms and our brothers/sisters in blue have failed to protect the American people from all of their enemies, both foreign and ‘most especially’ domestic.
*Soldiers (most especially ground combat soldiers) do not fight first and foremost for their country, the flag, motherhood, girls back home, nor apple pie. Before all else, soldiers engaged in ground combat fight for their fellow soldiers and their unit. Why? Because in every war/police action/whatever in the twentieth century and thus far in the twenty-first, the strategies/tactics adopted by mostly incompetent/corrupt military and civilian managers (notice, I said managers not leaders) were/are designed to benefit the military/industrial/political complex with only secondary consideration for those personnel charged with employing the same. In short, the American soldier has been a mercenary throughout most of our history and were officially branded the same in 1969 with the creation of the “All Volunteer Army (VOLAR)”.
*There are only two primary requirements to be a career soldier and/or cop in America. One must be smart enough to do the work and dumb enough to take the job.
*American soldiers and police officers must in addition to mastering all of their professionally mandated tasks learn to accomplish the same with at least one arm tied behind their backs, and their vision and hearing impaired 50% or more.
*After carefully watching the whole of the political class for many years I can say without reservation that most of the group will sell their souls and our bodies just to remain in power.
*Want to see what the United States of America will look like if the left takes total control of the government? Take your pick, New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Oakland, Portland, or the complete packages; California, New York, Illinois, etc, etc, etc…..!
*If the so-called ‘progressive movement’ continues unchecked a number of able veterans/soldiers/cops are going to be presented with a challenge/decision. Are the American people worth another drop of our sweat and/or our blood?
*Arrogance coupled with ignorance equals stupidity.
Have a nice day (while you still can),
Soldier/Cop,Retired
