The backlash erupted following Trump’s comments during a December 31 press conference in Florida, where he appeared to endorse bringing in more foreign workers under the H-1B visa program.
“I didn’t change my mind,” Trump said when asked about his position:
“I’ve always felt we have to have the most competent people in our country. We need competent people. We need smart people coming into our country. We need a lot of people coming in. We’re going to have jobs like we’ve never had before.”
While Trump framed his stance as prioritizing “competent” and “smart” workers, the response from his base was swift and critical.
Many of Trump’s supporters took to social media platforms, including X (formerly Twitter) and Truth Social, to express their dismay.
“This is completely unacceptable,” wrote the account Everyday Tech CEO. “I’ve been a staunch Trump supporter since the escalator, but I’ll drop him like a bad habit if he supports foreigners taking our jobs.”
Another user, Dominic Michael Tripi, acknowledged his admiration for Trump but warned of growing discontent:
“I love Trump and I’m going to go out of my way to be more positive. But I assure you that this messaging just simply isn’t what a large portion of MAGA wants to hear … it’s likely to cause angst among supporters.”
The H-1B visa program allows U.S. employers to temporarily hire foreign workers in specialized fields, but critics argue it is often abused to replace American workers with cheaper foreign labor. Well looks like Trump is making some serious missteps with some Cabinet Picks and Appointments (Musk, Ramaswamy and others) opening the door for more RINO’s or worse as we know how things went with Pence, Barr, Comey and so many even lesser figures in his first term! The country is heading over a cliff and so there is no time or space for missteps and the allowing of any backstabbing now!
Well if any American is qualified for the jobs that require technical background and education then he/she will be hired. But if there are no qualified and educated Americans who can be placed in those jobs then why not hire a legal alien who does meet the requirements of said employment?
They want to bring in these foreign workers because they work for peanuts.

These people are listening to Bannon too much. He has been a good cheerleader for MAGA up to this moment, but that is all he is, a cheerleader.
He hasn’t done anything in his life that even rises to 1% of what Musk or Ramaswamy has given to this country. To start a civil war with these men is stupid. Trump sure seems to be turning away from his core supporters even before he takes his position of President. No matter how some Trump loyalists want to paint it, he sure seems to be already showing signs of conformity towards the status quo. I’m a stickler for holding people at their word and Trump is already signaling toward going back on his promises to the people that has stood by him since 2016.
