Elon Musk, the owner of X and the founder of Tesla, is gearing up for a legal battle against Apple. He accuses the tech giant of using its App Store to unfairly limit competition in the world of artificial intelligence. Musk boldly stated that his AI company, xAI, is ready to take “immediate legal action” against what he sees as Apple’s antitrust behavior.
Musk took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express his frustration. He pointed out that Apple is playing favorites by making it tough for any AI company other than OpenAI to dominate the App Store. His remarks were clear: “Apple is behaving in a manner that makes it impossible for any AI company besides OpenAI to reach #1 in the App Store, which is an unequivocal antitrust violation.”
Adding fuel to the fire, Musk mentioned how Apple refused to feature X, the number one news app, and Grok, his AI chatbot, in its “Must Have” app section. Despite Grok ranking fifth overall, it didn’t make the cut. Musk questioned Apple directly, asking why ChatGPT appears on every list where Apple has editorial control.
In 2024, Apple teamed up with OpenAI to incorporate ChatGPT technology into Apple products through “Apple Intelligence.” This partnership seems to have left other AI developers like Musk feeling sidelined. The Coalition for a Competitive Mobile Experience (CCME) has thrown its support behind Musk’s stance.
Led by antitrust expert Brandon Kressin, CCME is not thrilled with Apple’s current practices. They posted on X, voicing their support for Musk and criticizing Apple’s “anti-competitive, anti-consumer App Store rules.” According to CCME, Apple continues to prioritize its own apps and hardware, placing unnecessary restrictions on third-party developers.
CCME is a collective of diverse companies aiming to improve consumer experiences by fostering a more open and competitive environment. Its members include big names like Meta, Spotify, and Garmin. Their website clearly states their mission to challenge Apple’s dominance in the App Store.
Meanwhile, Apple maintains that the App Store is “highly curated,” with each app undergoing a thorough review process. This process involves both human oversight and automated tools to determine app rankings, as noted by Yahoo Finance. Apple hasn’t responded to the latest claims, and an official comment wasn’t available on Tuesday.
Musk is no stranger to legal battles. He is already involved in a lawsuit against OpenAI, which he co-founded in 2015 but later left. This ongoing litigation aims to prevent OpenAI from transitioning to a for-profit model, with the trial scheduled for March 2026.
The tech world is watching closely as Musk challenges Apple’s practices. The outcome of this legal fight could have significant implications for app developers and the future of AI competition. For now, Musk’s bold move has certainly stirred the pot, and many are eager to see how Apple will respond.
With the backing of CCME and a coalition of tech companies, Musk’s lawsuit is set to test the limits of Apple’s control over its App Store. The battle lines are drawn, and the tech industry is bracing for a showdown. As Musk often does, he’s taking ambitious steps to ensure a level playing field in the ever-evolving tech landscape.

Just another Biden failure this family is so polluted it’s like the worst plague ever to get involved with.
What a disgraceful family of failures there is not one of them with an ounce of integrity or class they are all so corrupt and they don’t care about their own reputations. All they care about are themselves and their money no integrity or respect to anyone. Jill was always a gold digger she always wanted what she couldn’t have a low class nothing that wanted power and demanded respect without any class.
