An 18-year-old Smyrna man is facing a malice murder charge after police say they found dismembered human remains stuffed in trash bags inside the trunk of his car.
Kingston Lammar Bradley was charged Friday, according to Smyrna Police Lt. Meredith Holt, who described the case at a news conference. Witnesses told police they saw Bradley walking through his apartment complex carrying a container. When he noticed people watching him, he dropped it and ran into his apartment, Holt said.
Those witnesses then discovered human remains inside the container and called police, Holt said.
Officers had already been to Bradley’s home once before over this case. Holt said the family of a missing woman had reported that her car and phone were located there, but officers did not obtain a search warrant at that time.
After the container discovery, police returned to Bradley’s home with a warrant to search his car. Inside, they found a garbage bag pulled tight, its shape showing what a police news release described as the outline of a body part. The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s office was called in and confirmed the bags contained human remains.
