Aldi is releasing more than 30 new holiday-themed products throughout November, with a fresh batch of items arriving every Wednesday through Nov. 25. Every item in the rollout is priced under $10, continuing the discount grocer’s pitch to budget-conscious shoppers heading into the holiday season.
The first wave hit stores Nov. 4 and included the chain’s popular Advent calendars, which this year come in several varieties beyond the traditional chocolate-filled boxes — including options filled with cheese, wine, beer, tea and beauty products. There are also Advent calendars made specifically for dogs.
Other items released that first Wednesday included crab cakes, lobster cakes, iced gingerbread cookies, and pigs in a blanket wrapped in pastry dough and dusted with everything bagel seasoning.
The Nov. 11 drop, according to Food & Wine, adds peppermint mocha and caramel brûlée-flavored ground coffee, dark chocolate-covered cranberries, sugar cookie kettle corn, and a maple nut brioche loaf to the lineup.
Aldi says further releases this month will include pot roast pastry bites filled with beef and Swiss cheese, Christmas tree-shaped chicken nuggets, candy cane and stocking-shaped candies, and chocolate peppermint bark.
The holiday products follow a round of Thanksgiving-specific items that arrived in October, including a sweet potato casserole, cranberry jalapeño dip, truffle cheddar cheese, and scalloped potatoes.
Shoppers Share Finds Online
Aldi’s seasonal lineup has developed a following among online shoppers who swap tips about deals and markdowns. One Reddit user recounted last year’s shopping haul:
“Stumbled upon these two sets of pjs in my size for $2.50 each! Also, this cookie jar that I’ve had my eye on since they put it out was marked down to $5.50. There were other great deals and markdowns of pretty much all the holiday stuff.”
Another shopper described a crafting Advent calendar stocked with supplies for sand art and bracelet-making, calling it “overall worth the purchase.” A similar item, the Creativity for Kids Sensory Play Advent Calendar, is available at Aldi again this season.
Aldi operates more than 2,000 stores across 36 states and has promoted its ranking as “the Best Value among U.S. grocery stores,” according to the company’s corporate website. Fox News Digital reported it reached out to Aldi for comment on the November rollout.
