Tom Homan, the border czar, made a startling revelation about attempts to sabotage ICE’s recent operations in Aurora, Colorado. This week, ICE focused on capturing Tren de Aragua gang members and other criminal illegal aliens during their raids. Homan passionately declared, “TDA is going to be eradicated from this country. I will not rest until every one of them are in prison or in GITMO.”
Aurora has been under the spotlight recently due to reports of the violent Venezuelan gang taking over various apartment complexes. Despite Aurora not being a sanctuary city, it has been dealing with the consequences of Colorado’s and Denver’s sanctuary policies. These policies have inadvertently attracted a significant number of illegal aliens.
During the raids, ICE had set a goal to apprehend over 100 illegal aliens but only managed to capture 30, with just one being a TDA gang member. Homan shared with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner that the operation didn’t go as planned because someone leaked the details of the raids to the community in advance. When ICE agents arrived at the targeted locations, they found many of the residences had already been vacated.
Homan confidently mentioned that he has pinpointed how the operation was compromised and intends to address this immediately. He emphasized the importance of being transparent with the public about deportation efforts but hinted at potentially limiting media access to future ICE raids. “It’s obvious we can’t be having all these different news outlets out there with us on various raids,” he said.
The situation was further complicated by protesters who lined the streets during the raids, using megaphones to instruct illegal aliens on how to evade ICE agents. According to Fox News, one protester aggressively shouted, “You dumb a*******!” Another activist urged in Spanish, “Please remain silent! Don’t open the door.”
U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks also confirmed that leaks about the raids occurred, with a local media outlet allegedly tipping off activists. Banks mentioned that a media blackout might be considered if deemed necessary. Aurora City Council member Danielle Jurinsky stated she has “no direct knowledge” of any leaks regarding the ICE operations.
Jurinsky discussed how some activist groups are actively moving migrants around and advising them not to answer their doors. Homan is collaborating with the Department of Justice to determine when these groups cross the line from lawful protest to obstructing federal law enforcement. He vowed to use the DOJ to prosecute those who interfere with ICE’s mission.
“They may find themselves in a pair of handcuffs very soon,” Homan told Faulkner. He emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “We’re not going to tolerate it anymore. This is not a game.” The safety of ICE and Border Patrol officers, as well as the individuals they encounter, is at stake.
Homan highlighted the risks involved, saying, “To have this type of interference puts our officers at great risk. Not only the officers; it puts the aliens at great risk.” He reaffirmed the commitment to seeking prosecution against those who obstruct their efforts.
Reiterating his determination, Homan declared, “TDA is going to be eradicated from this country. I will not rest until every one of them are in prison or in GITMO.” He mentioned that since President Donald Trump assumed office, ICE has already arrested approximately 12,000 illegal aliens.
This aggressive approach aligns with the strong stance taken by influential conservatives like Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh, who have always advocated for strict enforcement of immigration laws. The ongoing situation in Aurora underscores the challenges faced by federal agencies in executing their duties effectively amidst resistance and interference.
Homan’s resolve showcases the dedication of law enforcement to maintaining order and upholding the law, even in the face of opposition. The complexities of immigration enforcement in areas affected by sanctuary policies continue to be a significant focus for ICE and related agencies. As the situation unfolds, the emphasis remains on safeguarding communities and ensuring that justice is served.
The recent developments in Aurora serve as a reminder of the broader national debate on immigration and the importance of securing the borders. With the backing of the Department of Justice, Homan is determined to hold accountable those who hinder law enforcement operations. The ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks like the Tren de Aragua gang are a testament to the commitment to public safety and national security.
Ultimately, the actions taken by Homan and ICE reflect a steadfast determination to protect American communities and enforce immigration laws effectively. The challenges posed by activist groups and media leaks highlight the need for strategic adjustments in how operations are conducted. Moving forward, the focus remains on achieving the objectives of law enforcement while ensuring the safety and security of all involved.
