An Idaho man, Warren Jones Crazybull, has been charged with making multiple threats to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
According to a criminal complaint, Crazybull, 64, made at least nine such threats, including a July 31 phone call to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, where he said, “I am coming down to Bedminster tomorrow. I am going to down him personally and kill him,” as reported by Forbes.
The threats came two weeks after an attempted assassination of Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Court documents reveal that Crazybull, from Sandpoint, Idaho, also used Facebook to issue threats under the alias “Tracy Jones,” posting alarming messages such as, “I start driving to the home of this multi-person rapist PIG TRUMP to take him down single combat.”
He also referenced figures like Jeffrey Epstein, John F. Kennedy Jr., and a “shadow government” in his posts.
The Secret Service was able to track Crazybull using phone data from T-Mobile. When agents interviewed him in Montana, they described his thought process as “racing” and “paranoid.”
While Crazybull reportedly told investigators he would not attempt to kill Trump, he also vowed to prevent him from becoming president again.
He blamed both Trump and former President John F. Kennedy for broken treaties that led to the loss of his land.
Crazybull, who had previously been admitted for psychiatric care, was arrested on August 1 and indicted on August 20. He pleaded not guilty to one count of making threats against a former president, a charge that carries a maximum prison sentence of five years. His trial is scheduled for October 28.
The threats from Crazybull came soon after another violent incident involving Trump. At a Pennsylvania campaign rally, Thomas Matthew Crooks shot Trump in the ear, killing a bystander.
Separately, earlier this month, Secret Service agents spotted a rifle near Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. They fired at the suspect, Ryan Wesley Routh, who was later arrested and charged with firearm offenses.
Routh, a convicted felon, was found in possession of a gun with an obliterated serial number. Investigative journalist Steve Baker told Blaze News that despite Routh’s 74 prior arrests, he had never served time in prison, raising questions about the justice system’s handling of his past offenses.
Amid the growing threats against Trump, campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung blamed the violent rhetoric of Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris.
Cheung told NBC News, “There have been two heinous assassination attempts on President Trump, and their violent rhetoric is directly to blame.”
He called for Democrats to apologize and tone down their rhetoric to prevent further violence.
