Kim Kardashian says she relies on five nannies to help raise the four children she shares with ex-husband Kanye West, with one always on rotation when the kids are in her care.
The billionaire businesswoman, 45, made the disclosure in a profile published Saturday by the Sunday Times’ Style Magazine. Her children with West, 49, are North, 13, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 7.
Despite the help, Kardashian said she personally handles school drop-off and pickup and sits down for family dinner with her kids every night.
“I think I am an intermediate-strict parent,” Kardashian said. “I’m extremely patient and loving. I still have a kid sleep in my bed when they want. I read books with the kids every night.”
Kardashian did not discuss the current state of her relationship with West, to whom she was married from 2014 to 2022, but said the two coordinate well on decisions involving their children’s careers, particularly North’s emerging solo music career.
“That is something that her dad and I have better communication about,” she said. “We make sure we’re aligned and that she’s in projects that we both approve.”
The co-parenting relationship between Kardashian and West has been rocky at times. West previously responded on social media after Kardashian described herself as her children’s “main provider.”
In a 2024 appearance on the “What’s in the Winkler” podcast, Kardashian said that despite having nannies, she often feels “alone” in raising her kids. She said she has “great support systems” but that nights can be difficult when her children are sleeping in her bed and “kicking” or “crying.”
Kardashian said she avoids discussing those struggles publicly to sidestep criticism, but maintained she was “basically raising four kids by [herself].”
“People will always jump to the, ‘Oh, but you have the resources to have nannies and to have help,'” she said.
Kardashian has built a business empire alongside her television career, which began in 2007. In 2018, she began studying law through California’s Law Office Study Program, an alternative path to a legal career that the state allows in place of law school, requiring 18 hours of study per week. She launched her Skims shapewear brand in 2019 and has continued attempting to pass the bar exam after multiple unsuccessful tries. A source told Page Six in May that she had paused her studies to focus on “filming and production for several projects.”
She has since added acting credits to her career, joining Ryan Murphy’s series “All’s Fair” as Allura Grant in 2025 and recently completing filming on its second season. She is also in a relationship with Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton.
West married model Bianca Censori in December 2022, less than a month after his divorce from Kardashian was finalized.
