Presley Gerber, the 27-year-old son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died Sunday at a rehabilitation facility, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner.
A representative for the family told Fox News Digital, “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.” Gerber’s parents had not publicly commented on his death as of this writing.
Friends and public figures shared tributes online. Paris Hilton wrote on social media, “Presley, you were such a beautiful soul. So sweet, sensitive, kind and genuine. I cared about you so much, and I’m going to miss you more than words can say.”
“I’ll always cherish the memories we shared – the laughs, the conversations, and just being around you. You had such a gentle heart and there was something so special about you that anyone who was lucky enough to know you could feel.”
Hilton added, “I hope you knew how deeply loved you were and how many people cared about you. My heart is with your entire family during this unimaginable time. Rest in peace, my friend. Love you forever. You will be so deeply missed.”
Brooklyn Beckham also posted a tribute to his Instagram story, writing, “I am so heartbroken. Presley you were the kindest and we are going to miss you so much x we love you.”
Comments poured in on Gerber’s final Instagram post as well. Brody Jenner wrote, “love you brother,” alongside a dove emoji and a broken heart, while Khloé Kardashian commented, “Praying for your family.” Social media personality Chase Keith wrote, “Rest in peace man.”
A Public Life on His Own Terms
Gerber’s sister, Kaia Gerber, spoke about her brother in an August interview with Vogue, describing him as someone who chose openness in a family accustomed to privacy.
“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything – and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
Gerber followed his mother into modeling as a teenager, signing with IMG Models at 15 and making his runway debut for Moschino in 2016. He went on to walk major runways and appear in campaigns for Dolce & Gabbana, Celine and Calvin Klein, including one alongside his sister. He also appeared with Crawford in a 2018 Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi that referenced his mother’s own history with the brand.
In recent years, Gerber spoke publicly about his struggles with mental health and addiction, saying he hoped his candor could help others facing similar challenges.
