Newly surfaced federal records show that Jason Galanis, the fiancé of a pregnant Savannah Chrisley, received high marks from prison officials years before he was sentenced to more than 15 years behind bars for securities fraud.
The documents, Bureau of Prisons records filed in court and obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, include a July 2017 work performance evaluation from Galanis’s time at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York, where he worked as a volunteer tutor. According to the evaluation, prison officials said Galanis tutored fellow inmates and encouraged them to pursue their education, and gave him top ratings in categories including quality and quantity of work, initiative, willingness to learn, and ability to work with others. He also scored well for following instructions and working with supervisors. Officials reportedly said they would promote him to a more demanding, higher-paying job if he worked for them outside prison.
Galanis, 56, once nicknamed “Porn’s New King,” was held at the MCC after a 2017 sentencing tied to two separate fraud schemes, though online records show both of those convictions were later vacated. In September 2020, he was sentenced to 189 months in prison on charges stemming from multiple securities fraud schemes, including a scheme to defraud a Native American tribe and investors of tens of millions of dollars.
Between 2012 and 2015, Galanis was a business partner of Hunter Biden. He later served time at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida, in 2023 alongside Todd Chrisley, Savannah’s father, before President Trump pardoned both men in March 2025.
Galanis has since been identified as the man Savannah Chrisley, 29, is engaged to and expecting a child with. On Tuesday’s episode of her “Unlocked” podcast, Savannah said the two met through politics while she was campaigning for the release of her parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, who had been convicted on bank and tax fraud charges. She also said the couple, who have a 27-year age gap, got engaged in December 2025, roughly five months after they began dating.
Not everyone close to Galanis sees the relationship favorably. His brother, Derek Galanis, told Page Six on Wednesday that Savannah is Galanis’s “biggest con yet” and said his sibling is “not a changed man.”
Savannah has rejected the criticism directed at her fiancé. In an Instagram Stories post Tuesday, she addressed their unborn child directly, writing, “You are not a controversy.”
