Harriet Hageman, the conservative Republican representative who succeeded Liz Cheney in Wyoming, had a viral moment this week when she expertly trolled Code Pink protesters in Washington, D.C.
The exchange took place outside the Capitol, where demonstrators gathered to voice their opposition to Israel’s recent military actions.
Hageman’s sharp response referenced a story about Hezbollah operatives using pager devices that exploded, as part of Israel’s defensive strategy against the terrorist group.
The quip quickly resonated with her supporters, further solidifying her standing among Wyoming voters, who had chosen her over Cheney in 2022.
According to a report from NewsBusters, Hageman confronted the protestors with a pointed question: “Do you have your pagers with you?”
The protesters, who were criticizing Israel’s military strikes, seemed taken aback by the remark. The crowd had been accusing Israel of using explosive-laden pagers against Hezbollah in Lebanon during recent defensive operations, where Israel reportedly targeted devices used by terrorists for communication.
While Israel has not confirmed or denied involvement in the operation, they have acknowledged that their anti-terrorism efforts are intensifying in the region.
One protestor, clearly frustrated by Hageman’s jab, responded with indignation, saying, “You find it amusing though, huh? Joking about my devices exploding and injuring or killing me?”
Despite their outburst, Hageman continued on her way, leaving the protesters visibly rattled.
This viral moment further demonstrated Hageman’s strong stance on national security and her willingness to confront those she believes sympathize with terrorist groups like Hezbollah.
It also reinforced the perception that Wyoming voters made the right choice in electing her, as she continues to take a bold, no-nonsense approach to representing her constituents on the national stage.
