A reported romance between Tom Brady and Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel has allegedly caused a rift between Swanepoel and her longtime friend and fellow model, Joan Smalls, according to Page Six.
Smalls and Swanepoel had reportedly been close friends for 15 years before the falling-out, which sources say followed Swanepoel’s alleged involvement with Brady. Smalls reportedly dated Brady on and off for about a year before the reported split with Swanepoel.
Sources told Page Six that Smalls has been pressing mutual friends to pick sides, a dispute that has reportedly spread tension through the Victoria’s Secret modeling circle.
In comments that were later deleted from social media, Smalls allegedly referred to Swanepoel as a “backstabber” and accused her of breaking “girl code.”
“And the disrespect and carelessness in how they treat you is so unimaginable. There’s no going back. Some people lack humility and moral compass,” the comments reportedly read.
“And the way they gaslight, lie and minimize your feelings is the worst slap in the face after 15yrs of friendship. Not a sorry said or written. Onwards and upwards!!!”
A representative for Swanepoel responded to the reports in a statement to Page Six: “Candice has always been exceptionally private about her personal life, with her focus remaining on raising her children. She and Joan share a longstanding history and a friendship that Candice will always respect.”
Representatives for Smalls, Swanepoel and Brady did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment, and Brady has not publicly addressed the reported relationship.
A pattern of high-profile romances
The reported relationship with Swanepoel is the latest in a string of high-profile romantic links for Brady since his divorce from Gisele Bündchen was finalized in October 2022, ending their 13-year marriage. The former couple share two children, Benjamin and Vivian. Brady also has a son, Jack, with actress Bridget Moynahan.
Since the divorce, Brady has been connected to several well-known women. He and Russian model Irina Shayk were photographed together in Los Angeles in 2023, prompting speculation about a relationship. In 2025, Brady was reportedly seen with “Modern Family” actress Sofia Vergara aboard a yacht in Ibiza, which a source described to Page Six as a “summer romance.”
Earlier this year, Brady was spotted with social media personality Alix Earle during a New Year’s Eve celebration in St. Barts. Video footage obtained by TMZ showed Earle whispering to Brady and touching his back. Weeks later, the two were seen together again at a pre-Super Bowl party, with a source telling People the pair were “hooking up.”
Swanepoel shares two sons with her former fiancé, Brazilian model Hermann Nicoli. Despite the reported tension between them, both Swanepoel and Smalls walked in the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
