Following the passing of actor Matthew Perry at 54 years old last year, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has been conducting an inquiry into the events leading to his fatal overdose.
With the conclusion of this investigation fast approaching, a source within law enforcement disclosed that ‘multiple individuals’ are anticipated to be charged.
Based on the autopsy report from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, Perry died from an overdose in his home hot tub on October 28, 2023.
The report revealed that the overdose was primarily due to the acute impact of ketamine, compounded by drowning, coronary artery disease, and the influence of buprenorphine.

The search for the source of the drug has led to interviews with key figures in Hollywood known for their history of drug use or abuse.
Authorities have been examining Perry’s activities leading up to his death, including his interactions on the dating app Raya and the delivery of illicit drugs to his home.
Perry’s well-documented struggles with addiction, detailed in his memoir “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” shed light on his journey toward sobriety.
The investigation also revealed that despite having a nursing team and a live-in sober companion, Perry managed to obtain drugs through casual hook-ups, highlighting the complexity of addiction and relapse.
Sources close to the investigation revealed that the ketamine in Perry’s system at the time of his death could not have originated from therapeutic use and was administered at a level akin to hospital anesthetics.
It was suggested that Perry became addicted to the drug after being prescribed it for depression treatment, succumbing to its dissociative effects.
As the investigation continues towards a conclusion, questions about accountability and potential charges facing ‘multiple people’ remain central.
The findings not only shed light on Perry’s tragic outcome but also serve as a cautionary tale about the dangerous grip of addiction.
