The resignation of the individual responsible for the controversial Project 2025 initiative from the Heritage Foundation has sparked heated debate and criticism from the left.
Paul Dans, in a recent statement, announced his departure from the right-wing think tank, while expressing his commitment to continue advocating for the principles outlined in the plan.
Project 2025, introduced by the Heritage Foundation, was put forth as a blueprint for former President Donald Trump to consider implementing during his potential second term following the 2024 presidential election.
However, liberals and other detractors of Trump seized upon the plan as an opportunity to denounce him, alleging that it reflected fascist and authoritarian intentions for his administration.
In early July, Trump publicly disavowed any association with Project 2025 and expressed ignorance about its contents. He unequivocally rejected elements of the plan and distanced himself from it in a post on Truth Social.
Despite this attempt to dissociate himself from Project 2025, critics continued to assert that Trump covertly endorsed its principles due to the involvement of his officials in formulating the proposal.
The Trump campaign vehemently denounced Project 2025 through a strongly worded statement, emphasizing that it had no affiliation with their operations or with President Trump.
They warned against misrepresenting their influence with President Trump and affirmed that such misrepresentation would have negative consequences.
Following Dans’ departure from the Heritage Foundation, it was announced that Kevin Roberts, president of the organization, would assume leadership of Project 2025.
Roberts emphasized that under Dans’ guidance, Project 2025 had successfully achieved its objectives by uniting over 110 conservative organizations and articulating a unified conservative vision aimed at shifting power away from unelected administrative bodies back to the people.
He also stated their intention to build a personnel infrastructure for policymakers at all levels—federal, state, and local.
Critics of Project 2025 included actor Mark Ruffalo, who took to social media to lambaste Republicans over their support for it.
Ruffalo characterized Project 2025 as representing white Christian nationalism and accused Trump of seeking to impose its principles on various aspects of society including abortion rights, LGBTQIA+ rights, freedom of expression and religion, education freedom as well as racial and gender equality.
He likened this perceived agenda to an “American Taliban” driven by forced birth and religion.
Dans’ resignation from Heritage Foundation has ignited fervent discussions surrounding Project 2025 and its implications.
The plan continues to be a subject of contention between political factions while its future direction remains uncertain under new leadership within Heritage Foundation.

Heritage Foundation people wh mail out request for donations have done so to me for years and all of a sudden they have addressed me as Ms. instead of Mr. I guess some millenial who knows nothing of spelling or names had taken over. They will get nothing from as long as they continue to miss my sex and name and I have written them at least 5 times about this but they continue to send mail addressed wrong every 2 weeks, I think the education system has become so bad since the 70’s that people don’t even know the sex of names or maybe it is they just don’t care or give a d–n
